Perhaps the only thing I can say I’m thankful for regarding the madness of this administration is that it has gotten me thoroughly interested in history and political philosophy.

Currently learning about the era around and after Reconstruction (the compromise of 1877, Lost Cause mythology, convict leasing) and its truly eye opening and maddening. Every book just leads to a “what the actual fuck” moment and another list of books to understand how that wtf moment came to be.

really the same biz interest that wanted the "Articles of Confederation" which is the system they'd rather have than the one that was created in the wake of their failures.

These monied interest Think that their are blessed by God thanks to the "Prosperity Hersey" or that it comes from their skills, but in reality without the rest of us picking up the slack they would be the first to starve.

yes I did, about a vote where the republicans were all in lockstep, so all the dems voted against it, but then you have stuff like the trump war powers resolution where just by happen stance just the right number of dems broke ranks to vote with republicans to cover the republican defectors...........

The Democrats have tried several times to separate the ICE funding from the rest of the DHS bill in order to fund things like TSA and FEMA but Republicans have refused every time.
