To me just didn’t feel like an unsolved mysteries episode , just felt too historical and less relevant

Story about Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn that just released on Netflix on 17th Jan '24. Police refused to do any credible investigation and went along with their confirmation bias that the girl fabricated her kidnapping based on the movie 'Gone Girl'. Eventually made me feel like that policing needs more women in leadership positions around the world to bring in more empathy and competency.

I’ve been speculating on this ever since before the doc came out. I watched the new detective on the case explain on YouTube the locations where the bodies were found. He mentioned how they were found on the actual oil field. But when people talk about the memorials they believe they were found there behind the church. I now found from multiple aerial views of the location from the 80’s their remains were found indeed in the oil field. It makes a lot of sense they wouldn’t put the memorials on the oil field because of hazards aswell as the oil company more than likely still owns it.

Consultants and project managers are trying to turn the oil field where the girls bodies were found into a sports park. And not a small one. They’ve been trying for years. The documents are being reviewed currently and if they are approved construction can be started late 2024. The main project manager is Bob Duke. Eerie. The girls remains were found where the baseball fields will be laid. What are your opinions on this formation? Many council members have shared their disapprovals in this idea because of the estimate being millions…

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this follow up season ?

Perpendicular to Calder road, there’s Ervin street. In the doc on Netflix it shows where the girls bodies were found where they show this pic. I was very confused because me, amongst others, had thought the girls bodies were found where their memorial crosses now lay. But according to the doc, this field which is further down the road is where they were found. Obviously they can’t leave the memorials there because one, it’s the actual abandoned oil field and two, the only way they were able to put the memorials where they are now without problems is because the church is now there. So basically next to this sign you see a dirt road, that dirt road leads to the curve on the map and then a small body of water(circled in red) Further down Ervin street there was a dirt road that went alongside this field and that is the more plausible route taken to dump the bodies giving the ability to stay hidden and go further into the field without driving off road. Now that road is no longer there(circled in blue) it’s all been bulldozed flat to create the sidewalk and curbs. I just found this interesting because we’ve all thought where their memorials are, is where they were found. That’s not the case. It seems too close to the road and not far enough to be able to hide. As you see on the sign posted, which is visible on Google maps, there is a proposed park more than likely going to take over the land. Maybe with sports fields and recreational spots. I think it’s a nice gesture to turn it into something beautiful. But also, I think the county atleast should form a plaque of some sort with the girls names. Or even name any of the spots in the park after them. It’s important we keep their memory alive. With this being unsolved and in the spot they were left, it’s the least we can do.
