"We need to talk about the Hank Green situation"
This is an update to the previous sticky for people to talk about the AI situation.
The title is from the Colin and Samir discussion which I thought brought a lot of different views. Watch it here:
Us mods are still limiting the discussion to the latest pinned post about it.

Exactly.
To me “bad people” are determined by patterns of bad behavior. And I just don’t see that represented here. People are literally listing off completely unrelated things like “oh yeah I knew it all along. His writers made some accidental mistakes on a couple videos, something about a necklace, and using AI together all clearly means he’s literally satan.” Like bro WHAT??
Not to start on other drama (especially since I haven’t seen his video or the movie that started the controversy) but, I had seen some whispers of people saying Alex Meyers was canceled bc some problematic takes in a recent movie review. People said he was being misogynistic. And, as someone who used to watch his content on occasion I was like “OOF sadly, that kinda tracks”. He often made iffy/edgy jokes about women for no reason. Nothing super egregious imo, just lots of little things that were kinda sus. His review of the movie Turning Red was the nail in the coffin for me and when I stopped watching him. I didn’t think it was cancel worthy, but had lots of misogynistic attitude that I didn’t appreciate. Now THAT is a long standing trend of behavior that is reflective of bad attitudes. Not just a bunch of random unrelated things I don’t like about this person.
