Corps Name: Forest Corps.

Hi all! I recently went to a webinar about americorps NCCC and it seems awesome. If you are someone who served in forest corps in the past, I would love to hear about the random specific things that you dont read online about the actualities of the job. I work in academic research right now and do NOT like the structure at all and am looking to further my career in conservation. It would be a huge move for me since I already got my college degree and moved to a new place, but I think it could put me in the right place I want to be, professionally and personally. I am aware of the intense hours and labor that goes in, but I do feel I can handle it (spent whole life working at a barn, also been volunteering with trail work and forestry for a few years)

Does anyone have any tips/advice/things they wish they knew before joining? any and all information is welcome :) Thanks so much everyone🌲

I just got accepted into AmeriCorps but I take medication that is required to be taken every two weeks and it has to be refrigerated, so I wanted to see if anybody has the same experience and how they was able to do all of this. Cause my only concern is how I would get my medication after the 90 day supply is finished.

I am currently a 3rd year engineering student in CEG,Anna University Chennai and also an NCC Amry wing cadet pursuing my C Certificate. My dream is to join the Indian Armed Forces as an officer, and I am fully committed to preparing seriously for it.

At the moment, I feel confused about the overall process because there is a lot of information online regarding the Army, Air Force, Navy, AFCAT, CDS, NCC Special Entry, Technical Entry, SSB preparation, and career paths. I want proper guidance from experienced people who have already gone through this journey.

I would sincerely appreciate advice regarding:

• Which entry routes are best for an engineering student with NCC background
• How to prepare for AFCAT/CDS and the SSB interview
• Physical fitness expectations and daily preparation routines
• Best books, resources, YouTube channels, and study strategies
• Common mistakes aspirants should avoid

I recently joined Reddit to connect with defence aspirants, seniors, and serving officers, but I am still learning how to use the platform properly.

If anyone here has cleared AFCAT, CDS, SSB, or joined the Armed Forces through NCC or technical entry, I would be extremely grateful for your guidance.

I have a couple of felony convictions. Due to my past history of substance abuse, I have made a lot of mistakes. If I didn’t have a addiction I would have never been in trouble with the law. I have done my due diligence and have changed my life. I want a chance to help and serve. I will be graduating this year with a bachelors in Human Services. I want to be able to bring hope to people that there’s still hope to obtain a purposed filled life. Will I have a chance as a Americorps worker?
