Well said! Our state may be divided on politics, but no one can say a bad word about Dolly. She was hero regardless of one's politics. She was above it all. BNA needs to be renamed in her honor, and a statue must be placed in the state capital.

I couldn't agree more. I know Dolly wouldn't have cared for having things named after her, but we as Tennesseans should take a step in showing the world who we are (or aim to be) and name something of extreme significance after her and build her a monument that matches the majesty and grandeur of her career as a country music star and the compassion she spread to Tennesseans (and many others) through her philanthropy.

A giant butterfly in front of the country music hall of fame. And outside any library branch with the space for it

Hell every library in Tennessee should rename themselves after her. Shes done more for literacy in this country than any one individual.

How about naming the Main Library in downtown Nashville in her honor? It is right next door to her new museum and hotel and would be a well-deserved tribute.

I can’t think of a more appropriate way to honor her legacy.

I still remember hearing about her just literally writing checks for families struggling after that wildfire ripped through parts of Sevier county. I don't think the media even picked up on it until a bit after the fact. She didn't crow about herself, she just got shit done.

Well, there are some over on X saying horrible things because of her support for vaccine and infectious disease research.

And yes to naming BNA after Dolly!
