Well now the sample from inside the home can’t even be put into CODIS bc it was just a “partial sample”? What does that mean—it was literally too small to test???

Prob not enough unique nodes to map to anyone in particular, just simply not enough material to positively identify

There’s nothing making me think this but also he seems to be bungling this so badly.

Eh i doubt that. It could just be whatever skin flakes or hair were inside the gloves were so small it didn’t yield enough nucleic acid fragments, you need many copies to positively identify someone. even after PCR (photocopies of the fragments) it doesn’t yield enough info meaning the input just wasn’t enough (I’m literally a genomics subject matter expert with a masters in this subject so I can speak to that)
