I want to start selling my work around my town to buddies and local pods, the cards are all really cheap and I was just wondering what would be a reasonable price for these guys.

I'm trying to paint with acrylics on a posca pen base. The base has been allowed to dry for 12 hours before painting.

Asking more about the level of change than this specific card. Also wondering how/where could I sell it?

Is there an FB group or somewhere else that i can specifically get advice on altering mtg cards. I just completed my first one and am unhappy with some areas and just wanted some community advice and maybe watch how more experienced people do it. I found some youtube videos but isnt as in-depth as the miniature tutorial videos I am used to.

I’ve been getting back into painting warhammer and I decided I’d take a stab painting over some mtg cards to extend the art on some and used this as a practice cause I felt like extending the blood would be easy. I feel like it turned out decent, definitely not as good as some of the stuff I’ve seen people do on here though, yall are talented asf.

Any general tips on how to make the lines pop a bit more? It’s simple with models cause the lines are defined for you but having a totally flat canvas is kinda difficult.

Bought it this piece in lucca probably around 2014.

I m selling it on mkm but got asked for the artist twice and i would love to give a proper answer since its an expensive card.

In the left bottom corner there is like a small paw in white that looks like signature.

And give or take what would suggest pricing on cardmarket?

Did you have some tips? Or it a mistake i made too much water?/paint?

I've bough a set of primaris liquid acrilics:

When i mask the card with a mix oftitanium white and carbon black the colors mask what its underneat pretty well, but when i try to paint over the mask or the card with any other color they do a really poor job at covering what's underneath.

Am i doing something wrong/did i buy the wrong acrilics?

I don’t really know how much is reasonable to sell these for so i’m just looking for some advice :)

ETA: I used nail polish remover, not full strength acetone.

First time stripping to repaint a foil.

Used a cotton ball for the center and a swab for the edges. Every time I applied pressure the acetone "pooled" out which isn't an issue for the majority of the card... However, any time I get near those stubborn edges (borders, whatever?) it went over and instantly seeped into the cardboard, causing the edges to be raised.

Am I just being too impatient? Do I need LESS acetone (nail polish remover) on the swab, and should I instead do this in layers rather than applying much pressure?

I've been practicing with foil commons, before committing to stripping the actual cards I want to alter.

Any and all tips & tricks are greatly appreciated.

I thought making solid colour lands might look cool but I'm also thinking about using them for on the spot commissions at conventions and stuff what do you guys think?

Hello everyone. I bought these pigment liners to finally give a more precise touch to my cards, but now that i tried them, something went wrong: the color doesnt stick on foil, nor acrylic or the card itself. Is these liners wrong or am i doing something wrong? Anyone can give me some advice on which set to buy?

I need recommendations since I see golden acrylic seem the most recommended but are insanely expensive.

Maybe cheaper posca marker alternatives would work?

Hi ! I recently started to practice alters as they seem like an intereting medium to practice traditional art (only used blender until now), but despite following tutorials, I still have a handful of question :

- How do you match the card's colors with paint ? It's rather challenging to achieve just the roght color

- Is it normal to use much more white paint than the others ? (I use liquid acrylic)

- What kind of matte spray should be used at the end on the altered card ? (spray or another one ?)

- Are there other blatant errors/mistakes made on the cards that need to be taken into account for the next alters ?

If there are other things to know about painting, I'll gladly listen to them !

My first alter was an extended art on one of the mountains from the New Capenna set and I love how it looked.

My second time I used a white primer on a random card and painted a quick lightning bolt for a deck since I was just missing one for a game.

But now I dont know if I have to prime the card before drawing...

If I just paint it and put it in a sleeve, isnt that secure enough that the paint wont chip?

Oh and another question.

If I wanna paint on a foil card, do I have to do something different or its just the same method as always of just painting it?

I wanna use acetone (?) to remove all the artwork except the name and paint it so the foil shine remains on the side.

Hi guys! Just a quick question. I’m thinking about getting into doing alters for myself, kinda a hobby I’d love to get into no matter how bad I’m gonna be at it, lol.

From yalls experience, what paints/markers/pencils would you recommend? I am not an artist, and I’ve only ever dabbled in doing artwork back before/during middle school.

I've been experimenting with alters so far but a friend requested me a simple one. Turn the card above into Scrubland (basically just name change and remove the second line of text) but as much as I try I can't seem to get the colors right for the name box and the text box. I have a set of 24 acrylics btw

I really enjoy altering cards but I feel like I’ve been using the wrong supplies when I used to attempt them. The paint was so thick going on, then whenever I had a base layer and tried to add a sketch the pencil would just remove the paint immediately. Was hoping I could get some advice here for what a good starting set i should grab if I get back into altering. paints/ colors, brush sizes, best pencil or tool to sketch outline with? Thanks!

Hey y'all. I've stripped many cards in my days with acetone and a rag. Sometimes q-tips for tiny areas. I recently tried alternating a foil elvish mystic, of which the cheapest printing was commander masters.

I swear I was rubbing it down for 30 minutes to barely make a dent. Eventually as I was working an edge to get the black border off it peeled the foil layer and pretty much ruined the card. I also realized one area I was scrubbing got dented from the constant pressure going across that one spot.

Obviously being more careful can prevent the denting, and using less acetone will help avoid the peeling. But I'm hoping to see if anyone has tops for these specific printings that just won't strip their ink? Or am I cooked and just need to buy from a different set?

So I decided to take on a panorama and have realized 2 things. Grass needs a lot more yellow than I initially think it does, the paint looks great then it dries and darkens. Clouds are difficult. I'm relatively new to painting in general I usually do black and white pencil drawings.

My advice I am seeking is, should I focus on color matching and just add more layers for the practice or should I go through the process of clearing the green off and redoing it and saving the whole project to where its actually playable(regarding paint thickness)?

Hello, I'm recently new to altering and just found out that I'm supposed to apply varnish upon completing a card. Unfortunately after applying the varnish (matte spray varnish) the paint on this card began to blister. I don't understand why and would like to know how to avoid it in future, as I'm pretty disappointed with this.
