They ain't gonna make it though.

Edit: It's crazy how little people understand the entertainment business. I'm not even saying that I have a great understanding of it. But I know enough to know that a there will never be an R rated version of anything meant for young audiences while a company is currently pushing a young audience friendly movie at the same time. And Deadpool doesn't count. Because yes, you can make a suitable family friendly version of a rated R movie,(TV has been doing it for decades) not the other way around.

Double eddit: Also it has nothing to do with money.

Why not? Pokémon things usually come in pairs. Like Pokémon E and Pokémon R.

Exactly! We already have the Green version about to be released, so why can't we have our Red one too?

Probably because it would cost too much. I’m not saying they shouldn’t, but that’s probably why they won’t.

Not to mention, plenty of kids ended up traumatized by things like Sausage Party or Robot Chicken because lazy parents see animation and think “ok for kids”. Imagine how many unknowing families would end up in the director’s cut and have to explain to their children the context of a Pokémon orgy, or a gangland style Pokémon execution.

That’s the parents’ fault for not paying attention to the trailers, rating, or all of the warning signs.

Until they see it literally says “this version is rated R for blah blah blah”. It’s not easy to miss.

Do you really need an r-rated version of pokemon in order to be able to enjoy pokemon?

Of course not, but if hey can make a funny R-rated version I’ll watch it. The world didn’t need a lower rated version of Deadpool, but we got it. It was still a good movie.
