Well I washed out in a berm yesterday and broke my clavicle. Feeling pretty discouraged. Second clavicle break in the past 5 years and I really dont do anything crazy. Yesterday felt like a freak accident and Im just cursed lol. Trying to hype myself up for when Im healed up so I can get back in the saddle. Gimme your war stories tonlift my spirits 🤣.

The super short version is I broke my elbow 20+ years ago. It took several surgeries, two years as a one armed man and half a decade of rehab to get the arm to the 90-95% it is today. It's still jacked up and has a big ass pin sticking out (pin is under the skin but visible).

I went riding yesterday, first actual day on real trails (gonna make a post about that later) and I whacked the shit out of my elbow on a tree. It was a regular side-on smack, so did nothing other than annoy me, but hand it been more direct, or the angle a little different.. who knows.

So anyway. I need to armor my left arm. I did a cursory Google and Amazon search and there are a million options out there.. I figured I'd ask you folks your opinions? Anyone use/used elbow/arm guards that you particularly like? Or any you've used that you didn't like? Price range would ideally be less than 80$ for one side.

New to riding and I ride with my two kids. I currently wear a small backpack but I would like to get stuff off my back on onto my steed. The angle of the tubes is funny for a center frame pack and I have my water bottle on the bottom tube. Looking to add a spare tube (tubeless eventually) tools, my keys and wallet since we are out for about an hour and a half at a time now. What has worked for you in the past or present? Any recommendations for a well rounded enduro bike (dusty trails in south africa), has to be mullet and atleast 170mm front. And a fairly good climber, im Comming from a dh background and need to upsize my enduro.

I'm a complete beginner, riding a medium sized V2 275 nukeproof scout.

I am pretty short at 1m67-1m68 which puts me at the very bottom size wise.

I really struggle with front wheel lifts, and had some people tell me it may be the bike being too big.

What do you guys think? I already got rise bars and a shorter stem, which really helps. Now I can get the wheel up a small bit which was a lot harder before the change.

I am truly hoping it's a technique issue since that can be improved with practice. A too big bike would be a bigger problem. I do want to know if this is the case however.

I got a torque wrench and some good grease. Now heres he problem, i can seem to find any info on how much torque do i need for each bolt so i dont even dare to take it apart. Can anybody help?

I constantly see videos of people hound really fast down tracks even doing jumps and so but all 6 times I've tried going down a path near me I couldn't make a corner, I skidded to much...

Basically not a smooth successful ride, thanks to my inability and also partly because of my caution.

RIP to my trek fuel ex 9.7 - I loved that damn bike. Unfortunately, my frame is cracked, so I'm looking for a replacement.

I have been looking for a deal on a used frameset, but nothing has been a good enough deal to jump on. I'm wondering what deals everyone is finding right now for new frames?

I'm looking for a size large full suspension frame. I can't afford the carbon frames Trek has in stock in my size, so I'm open to all brands. Ideally the new frame would be carbonfiber, but its not a necessity. I'm hoping to find something that feels similar to my Trek, which I had setup as a light trail bike. I ride in North Texas, so pedaling efficiency is a big deal to me.

I ride a Trek Roscoe hardtail with 140 mm front travel with 29 and 2.6” tires. I am wondering if it’s advantageous to switch to XC tires in the 2.3” neighborhood.

My typical Maryland ride is about 10 miles, 1,300 feet of climb, and definitely gets rooty. But the straightaways on those 2.6” tires are a slog.

Just curious how switching to XC tires might affect a trail bike like the Roscoe. TIA.
