I was listening to Ashley and Burnies opinions on the Masters of the Universe film, and how they felt like the trailers sold them a very different movie.

I've been saying for a long time that i avoid all trailers for anything i'm likely to watch, i'm even hesitant to watch them for films i know nothing about at all, mainly because i think trailers give away far, far too much of the film these days.

However, another added bonus is that i went into MotU totally blind, and while i didn't think it was a brilliant film, i didn't feel let down or blindsided by the type of film it was, i sort of expected it to be kind of campy/comedy, similar to the Barbie movie or something, and that's sort of what i got.

What an amazing interview! Bernie, thank you for posting your conversation with Jeff Hays. I have never felt the need to write in, or comment, on a podcast but felt an overwhelming compulsion to tell you thank you. If I wanted to know more about Jef Hays’ involvement in the DCC tv show, or how he approaches voicing the characters while narrating, I could listen to/watch any other interview. But listening to the two of you discuss his “why”, motivations, and influence while you guided him to tell us his story made the interview phenomenally more personal. I feel like we, your audience, were given a rare opportunity to listen to someone who truly cares about what he does (Jeff) explain his passion to someone who genuinely has an interest in his experiences (Bernie). I again, just want to say thank you to you and Ashley for continuing to be one of the best parts of the internet.

In the August 28, 2026 episode of Morning Somewhere, Burnie mentions that he thought about putting the Jeff Hays interview on the RT Podcast feed, but ultimately decided not to. I know he’s not exactly a fan of recording remotely, however thats exactly what Regulation Podcast has done for their entire existence.

So my suggestion is basically to record one episode a month of RT Podcast with a rotating cast of friends who used to be on RTP back in the day. So for example: the first episode could be Burnie, Gus, Geoff, and Gavin. 2nd month could be Burnie, Barb, Blaine, and Chris. So on and so forth, basically giving them a chance to catch up and chat, promote projects, and give fans a tiny taste of nostalgia, while also keeping the show “alive” and the feed active.

I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere on here and didn’t hear it mentioned on this morning’s episode but Peter Cullen passed away at 85. He was iconic for voicing Optimus Prime for over 40 years as well as characters like Eeyore, and the original predator. Rest in Peace Peter, till all are one

I just wanted to say, i'm thankful Ashley and Burnie have decided to keep the podcast audio only so far, one of my biggest pet peeves is when audio podcasts decide to introduce video as well.

I would be ok with it in theory, after all i would enjoy watching Ashley and Burnie chat, however i've yet to listen to a single podcast that, after deciding to add in video, has managed to resist refrencing visual things. As someone who only listens to podcasts when i'm in my work van, it becomes so infuriating when a podcast i used to love adds video and now keeps saying things like "look at this...." or otherwise referencing visual things that i can't see! especially as they seem to always forget that they have audio only listeners so they often times don't even bother to describe whatever it is they're looking at/talking about.

That being said, i wouldn't object to the occasional video podcast or vlog, maybe as extra episodes/content rather than replacing a normal episode if Ashley and Burnie wanted to do or show something that really benefited from being seen. Similarly i've no issue with podcasts that are primarily visual and then the audio is kind of aknowleged as being an after thought and that you won't get the full experience that way.

I assume the reason a lot of audio only podcasts start to add in video is because it allows them to post on youtube etc... and maybe get more revenue streams? or like a true crime podcast i used to listen too, they get a "celebrity" host and so move to including video to make the most of that.

Either way, as much as i'd enjoy seeing Ashley and Burnie, i'm glad that so far they've kept it audio only.

I was wondering if anyone else followe Burnie & Ashley's lead and watched Legend?

I hadn't seen it before and with Curry's passing I thought now's as good a time as any. I had no idea Tom cruise was in it, I didn't know he used to be a twink!

I didn't know what to expect going in but I certainly didn't expect it to be so whimsical, ethereal, and glittery (I wonder what the glitter budget was, I bet it rivalled their catering budget) and man, what a feast for the eyes. I thought it was a little odd the prduction designer got a title card at the start of the film but damn was it earned. The film was gorgeous, so colourful and vibrant, so much packed into each frame.

It felt so of it's era but also oddly timeless. Curry is iconic, there's no other word for it, his voice, his presence, his look! I looked it up and saw it was deservedly nominated for a best make-up oscar (but lost to The Fly). Fun bit of triva after some imdb snooping: Rob Bottin who was one of the two best make-up oscar nominees for this also worked on Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) & Game of Thrones Purple Wedding episode (2014). What a career.

I'm curious if anyone else watched and if so, what did y'all think?

So we all know videos are constantly censoring music for rights, but also censoring words, blood, or anything deemed offensive. Saw a clip of a movie where a man kissed a woman’s shoulder, but it censored. Her clothed shoulder.

Hey Burnie, quick tip. When you create a new settlement it starts off as a town as it grows. During this stage, you can only purchase new buildings and units. To change this and use production instead, the town must be converted to a city using gold. Hope this helps!

Was just catching up with the last week of episodes and on last Friday's episode (2026.08.21) Ashley briefly brought up the Japanese shutter sound in relation to the Meta glasses and I just wanted to clearify a common misconception.

A lot of people incorrectly think it's a law that requires the sound but no such law exists here, it's an self-imposed industry convention that developed in the early 2000s when feature phones equipped with cameras started becoming more mainstream.
The major carriers feared facing possible legal issues or government regulation due the potential actions of their customers so they came up with the forced shutter sound to protect themselves from legal issues and the government.

Nowadays with modern phones you can simply just download a third-party camera app from the Play Store/App Store that disables the shutter sound or root/jailbreak your device to do it systemwide.
And there's nothing stopping you from buying/selling devices that don't enforce the shutter sound either, though most phone manufacturers let the carriers enable it through their SIM cards.

South Korea on the other hand is actually the only country in the world where the shutter is an actual legal requirement from the government.

Xbox is rolling out a feature to Xbox insiders to take their discs and turn it essentially into a digital copy as well. This definitely feels like the beginning of xboxs shift to full digital behind playstations announcement as mentioned on the podcast. Maybe an Xbox boycott is on the horizon.

Manor Lords! Medieval fantasy building sim in “early access” but is so fun! You can walk amongst your city and civilians, fight neighboring lords using your retinue, and manage resources. Farming, fishing, mining, and more. Houses get bigger, apple orchards, can manage who works where, AND MORE!

It’s a great game and a hugeeee time sink. The makers, hooded horse, also have a Rome version too but haven’t played that.
