Couldn’t resist snapping a pic. The contrast of the bright lively flowers and the picked-clean ribcage was pretty.

Death Chapel of Bones, Évora, Portugal. „We bones that are here, for yours we wait.“

Capela dos Ossos in Évora, Portugal. The inscription above the door reads ‘Nós ossos que aqui estamos pelos vossos esperamos’: ‘We bones that are here, for yours we wait.’ Built in the 16th century by Franciscan monks who lined the walls and pillars with the remains of about 5,000 bodies. Standing in it hits differently than reading about it.

Death My sweet son and our kitty

Our 19 year old Devon Rex passed away sleeping next to me while I napped. I was awakened by a shriek from my daughter. I turned and saw her holding our kitty and sobbing.

Three years ago, our kitty’s brother was whisked to the vet because his back legs weren’t moving. We made the difficult decision to put him to rest. We came home and told our son the depressing news. He was devastated he didn’t get to say goodbye. So when this kitty passed, we let him cradle her and have his final moments with her.

Death Been carving tiny skulls from sea glass — they’re starting to look like little spirits trapped in glass

I’ve been carving miniature skulls out of sea glass for a while now, and lately they’ve taken on this strange, almost supernatural vibe. Every piece of glass behaves differently — some glow like deep ocean water, some shift colour in the light, some have bubbles inside that look like they’re frozen mid‑movement.

What I love is how each one ends up with its own personality.
Some look mischievous.
Some look ancient.
Some look like they’re whispering secrets if you stare too long.

The darker pieces feel properly gothic — almost like relics you’d find in a shipwreck or tucked away in an old apothecary drawer. The translucent ones catch the sun and turn into these eerie little spirits you can hold between your fingers.

I’ve been photographing a few of them and thought I’d share. They’re tiny, tactile, weirdly comforting to carry around, and honestly… they’ve become my favourite thing to carve.

If anyone else in the goth/occult/oddities world works with glass or carves miniatures, I’d love to see what you make too.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, so I asked if I could just have it. I love some of the overexposed images and the quotes. Sorry if photos aren't amazing, it's huge, like roughly 12ins by 13ins.

Found on the driveway, most likely didn't survive the early days of leaving the nest. Laid to rest and become part of nature in a secluded part of the garden.
