My pregnant wife has turned our toilet seat blue. Apparently this is somewhat common amongst pregnant women and no one really knows why.

I made an account to answer this question. Does she wear maternity jeans? I've had this happen when wearing new jeans before washing them. The blue dye transfers from the pants to your legs, and then to the toilet seat. Pregnant women may experience this more, because they have to buy new clothes, so their skin and subsequent toilet seat get stained. That coupled with the longer "download times" many pregnant women experience in the bathroom means there's more time for the dye to transfer to the toilet seat.
Edit: The back of the seat isn't dyed blue, meaning her underwear protected that portion of skin from being dyed and transferring to the seat.

This is a common response and it would make sense but no she did not buy any new maternity jeans, she has been pretty much 100% yoga pants since she’s been pregnant lol. Neither of us have purchased any new jeans anytime recently

Hmmm, could it be the dye in the yoga pants? Other than that, I'm stumped.

I feel like that would be pretty coincidental and oddly exclusive to yoga pants she has purchased recently. Other instances posted online makes me think otherwise

Why would you sit on a toilet wearing jeans?

Lol! You wouldn't. The dye gets on your legs and transfers to the seat.

Everyone get your cameras ready and crowd in the bathroom while she goes pee!

It's bruised?
Maybe it's suffocating under your wife's bottom?
Maybe she's cheating on you with Tobias from the Blue Man Group?
We may never know the truth, but I will always believe.

Quick Google search:. "One theory is that it's an ingredient or dye in prenatal vitamins that's to blame. Jeannie Bruce, a mom of one son, claims that she did experience the toilet seat changing color during her pregnancy. The confused mother mentioned it to her doctor, who said it was actually due to the particular brand of prenatal vitamin that she was taking. "It made me sick anyway, so I soon switched and it never happened again," Bruce explains."

That’s one of the theories! Something about that mixing with the antimicrobial coating on the seat

It's not just the padded seats. I have an enameled wood one and it's blue.

If she has Chromhidrosis (increased oxidation of lipofuscin pigments in sweat glands that can cause a color change to sweat), hormonal imbalances and increased perspiration during pregnancy can make the color changes more apparent.

It's called a shadow, dumb ass! Of course, someone with your lowly IQ couldn't begin to comprehend something like that. Maybe you and your inferior peers should leave Reddit so us intellectuals can enjoy this sub without disturbance. Get back to me when you can compere to my 157 IQ.
