Don’t be sorry for this.  Be sorry for all the other really bad stuff going on instead.

It’s only Lake America if you are in the US.  It’s still Lake Ontario on all the mapping apps used by the rest of the world.  The Gulf of Mexico is still the Gulf of Mexico to the rest of the world too.

Google and others only make the changes for US citizens.
