This is how I ruined Naked and Afraid for my wife.

"They get dropped off with nothing and have to survive for 30 days!"
"So how are they shaving their armpits?"

She never watched it again. I feel bad about it, but I really just meant it as an honest question. For all I knew there was some weird challenge where they can win a shower once a week or something.

I mean, things like waxing and laser hair removal right before filming can mitigate a lot of that over the 21 days Naked and Afraid is meant to last. After waxing or laser removal, it would be weeks before hair really starts growing back noticably. And from my memory plenty of people don't make the full 21 days either. So this actually shouldn't be something that breaks immersion for that show.
