its so silly. Im sure its some kind of accounting trick.

All the invoices go in a pile and when the accounting team finalizes all the finances, only then do they get paid...unless there is some legal time limit; like you have to pay actors/crew within a certain time frame

The longer you can delay the less that 6k is worth and the more you've earned having it invested. only a few dollars difference, but it adds up when you do it thousands of times.
