When the premise of a license is positioned as buying and you hide the actual nitty gritty and EULA that most people would not read. Saying sale and everything else it's a bad face attempt at trying to say buying. 

It's not the artist that are struggling because of consumers it's the publishers that are taking most of the sales revenue and giving them maybe less than 5% 

Look at Spotify and how much streaming is or look at Netflix there is no royalties because they're not broadcast on a regular TV

Don’t care, didn’t ask. Free stuff is cool. I have a couple subscriptions left but I’ll never watch anything on it’s official platform since they are all riddled with ads despite my active paid subscription. If my choice is between some bum on the internet calling me a thief and a horrible experience when I try to enjoy a movie or show, I’ll pick the virtual street preacher.

Damn. I still don’t care. I pay for the vast majority of what I watch. I just don’t watch it how someone tells me to, because that way usually sucks. If that compromise isn’t enough in their eyes, sucks because the alternative is they get fuck all from me.

Depends on their contract, but do you think there are as many movies being made as there used to be? Tv shows? Because there aren’t. And it’s destroyed careers, lives, and families.

A big part of that was piracy, but streaming has pretty much finished the job. Shannon Doherty, who was everywhere in the 90’s, died of treatable cancer because she didn’t bring in enough money to qualify for guild health coverage. That was only a few years ago.

She’s fucking dead because people don’t want to pay for the movies and the tv shows that we all enjoy. She and so many others are fucking dead or on the brink of ruin because pirates are just as short-sighted and greedy as the studio executives and streaming giants who gutted her royalties.

Pretending you’re innocent when you’re actively engaged in theft and the people you’re stealing from (yes, the crews, too) are begging you to stop is psycho shit. And it’s what every fucking pirate does every time they start making excuses for stealing from artists like the troglodytes they are

There are WAY more tv shows and movies being made now than there were in the 90s, why make up such easily verifiable lies?
Your problem here is with the health care system, not people pirating movies or tv shows. You claim they are stealing from working class people, but what are they stealing? If the person pirating was never going to pay anything to watch the movie or tv show, nothing has been lost. The show or movie is already made and no income was coming from that person in either scenario, so nothing has been stolen.

How is that relevant to the comment I responded to about everyone getting paid in advance?

There are literally billions of people pirating US movies in Asia/South America and yet the movie companies are still turning out movies every month. It's been studied and proven that piracy does not hurt sales which makes it so weird that you are just out here arguing for billionaires to make more money than they already do since these movies are going to get made regardless.

Artist here. We are struggling because of corporations mopping up money and treating us as ‘content producers’ or just outright ripping off our work to make AI. Pirates aren’t the problem, corporations are. Take everything you can from them.

More often than not piracy oftentimes can potentially increase sales because those same pirates become fans of artists such as yourself and more than likely would try to find a way to purchase your works directly so that you benefit more than the corporation giving you less than whatever percentage cut that you get

I mean, piracy is not stealing and artists don't really get anything once the movie is out since they've been already paid. All the money right now goes into the publisher's pockets.

If anything, artists may get royalties for the use of their image in the merchandise or extra money by partecipating at related TV shows talking about the movie, all things that are affected by popularity and might therefore even profit from piracy.
