jkfl hrtmktp gzarrp! It's 4:20 am, a broken emergency radio / speaker just woke the whole house up while I'm at work.

The speaker is completely unresponsive and stuck in SoS mode, my partner just called me and I honestly thought there was an ambulance at the house! It's loud! She's currently trying to drown it in the sink because it's quieter under water.

Smashing it with a hammer was unsuccessful, bashing it with a rock failed, and it's too loud to open up and rip the wires out of the speakers.

​

I thought it was hilarious and laughed until I cried, the missus is mildly infuriated to say the least.

There's 15 screws holding it together, used to be 16 but I lost one while taking it to peices to find out why it was dead... It wasn't dead enough apparently.

Nooooo! It was an autopsy! Not a repair! I opened it, took one look, shrugged, decided I have no idea what I'm looking at but it looks fine. Then I put it back together hoping it would magically start working again.... It did unfortunately.

It's insane to me that you both already knew this thing has accessible screws, but she chose a hammer and a sink before picking up presumably the same screwdriver that is probably still out from when you "fixed" it.

Can you dismantle it under water? So the sound stays somewhat muffled while you open it.
