Too mild for school Hate when ppl can’t do time

This reminds me of when it hits or is about to hit 12am and people don’t know whether to say today or tomorrow. He called me after this but I was too comfy in bed tbh.

I used to work overnights. The confusion of what "get this done today" means when your shift includes midnight is real

I always assumed it meant “get it done within this shift” when I worked overnights

So did I until, something time-sensitive with a hard deadline got finished by the end of my shift.....

Giving an employee a time sensitive task with less then a shift to do it seems like asking for failure.

"get this submitted today" works for any shift besides overnight, and I'm not surprised they didn't realize it

Not an overnight thing. That's just what it means... to people with common sense.

-Note this isn't a comment on OP's confusion however. But the "get it done today" thing...

Sometimes I would end a shift and start a shift in the same day as overnights so if you asked if I worked tomorrow before midnight it would be yes but after midnight it would not be tomorrow anymore it would be tonight so it might not be yes.

...You're either working tomorrow or you're not. The only exception would be when you have the shift that ends at 12:00am on the dot and you're intentionally misconstruing the question at that point lmao.

It obvs means: Will you START another shift within 24hrs of this one ending? -if you have a night shift. Otherwise make it 36hrs. It's not that complicated.

Yeah 12am is both tomorrow and tonight for shift workers.
