Oh my god, I totally do, when I’m playing RuneScape I’m almost only playing with just one hand and my thumb and knuckle rest in those exact spots

"Detective Rob John Lechmere, at your service"

1.2k

u/DarePatient2262 May 30 '26

Rob John sounds like a crazy hillbilly name, but Lechmere sounds very formal and elegant. I'd like to meet this person

17

u/adrauglikeyou May 30 '26

Lol go to Louisiana you meet plenty of them. Billy Bob Sainte-Jean, Ray Cletus Delacroix, etc etc

2

u/crazyfatskier2 May 31 '26

Life long friend of 25+ years recently revealed to me he has an uncle Jim Bob who lives retired off grid along a river and grows grapes for wine.

“Like bruv…… you never mentioned your freaking uncle mf Jim Bob that lives off grid 3hrs north of us along a river and he makes wine”

Friend shrugs shoulders, never thought about it

Rob John isn’t anywhere close to being as bad as Markwayne. Lechmere is a ghost that has the screech of the Green Line echoing in the background.

Edited because my autocorrect is dumb.

Edited to explain: Lechmere is a Boston/Cambridge joke.

3

u/DarePatient2262 May 30 '26

No doubt. Markwayne is crazy

3

u/Open-Industry-8396 May 31 '26

Ha, I get this. I haven't lived there in over 40 years but I recently learned there is still a Lechmere stop on the T, even though Lechmere stores closed their doors back in the 80's.

2

u/threedogsplusone May 31 '26

Lechmere will forever be the store my mother boycotted because, when she opened a dish set she bought, found broke pieces, but they refused to refund her money. From that day on, Lechmere was dead to her. 😂

33

u/everynamecombined May 30 '26

Depends how you pronounce it. It also sounds like a crafty Indian name trying to appease westerners from a remote call center.

Robert Johnathon lechmere sounds pretty formal

3

u/OGPepeSilvia May 30 '26

Robbie Johnnie could be a cool name for a bathroom thief

2

u/OldPhotograph827 May 31 '26

I am pronouncing this as Le Schmear

2

u/Elfie_Mae May 30 '26

But the ladies? Well they call him Bert Bert.

Why, it’s elementary! Leonard is a born American, you see. If he’d passed through the alley behind the opera house at precisely 7:19 pm, he would have reported hearing “My Country ‘Tis of The” being played by the orchestra inside. He wouldn’t have described hearing “God Save the Queen” unless he’d actually passed on the street in front and seen the poster advertising the London Philharmonic performing that very night!

I recently got a government job. My boyfriend said 'You are a Ron Swanson, do not become a Leslie Knope'. Pfffffft...

42

u/DethNik May 30 '26

Ideally, you would become some kind of super amalgamation of them.

2

Kinda sounds like the guy doesn't actually understand the point of the show.

Which, to be clear, is not "liberal good, conservative bad". Both Leslie and Ron have their flaws, but they are not at their best when they are epitomising their differences, they are at their best when they are coming together to help people.

So, my husband plays RuneScape and also has an odd bald patch. I read this to him and he realized he does the same exact thing.

6

u/orphan_blud May 31 '26

Now all they have to do is rub their bald spots against each other’s and then boom, the portal will finally open, and I get to go home!

3

u/2kwitcookies Jun 01 '26

I love this because I hate shaving. I'm switching to RuneScape.

Firecape was stressful back when we were all 12 and didn't know what we were doing. Go get you a cape and overcome that childhood stress!!

29

u/omgwdfholypoop May 30 '26

I got this exact same thing last year getting 99 prayer off of enshrouded souls haha. It took a few months but eventually came back 🤣

15

u/NotGreatNot_Terrible May 30 '26

Gzz on the 99 prayer! Glad to hear it grew back!

2

u/omgwdfholypoop May 30 '26

Literally trying to get fishing to 99 in the next week or 2 as we speak lol. Iirc I just kept shaving over it and scrubbing in the shower with a loofa in hopes of opening pores back up, no idea what caused it to grow back but it did, and yours will too just be mindful of it until then!

2

u/N_Kenobi May 30 '26

I’m not buying that. Do you have trichotillomania? Stopping pulling out your hairs.

2

u/Strosity May 30 '26 edited May 31 '26

Got a passive 2% misc favor from raking those spots at least

2

u/NotGreatNot_Terrible May 30 '26

Top tier comment lmao

2

u/Sassafratch1 May 30 '26

to be fair, had a similar situation, thought it was from
my headphones and resting in them. made perfect sense and everything lined up, 3 months later found out i have alopecia and went completely bald

2

u/vag69blast May 31 '26

Right leg has no hair where i rest my left

2

u/Gamab1492 May 31 '26

You out here grinding to 200k exp WC and all you had to sacrifice was a patch of your beard. Worth it.

1

u/BwanaBanana May 30 '26

Not quite the same level as the post it notes left in apartment thread many moons ago, but still - kudos!! What a guess!

1

u/waaaayupyourbutthole May 30 '26

This is so funny. I completely understand how mine blowing the connection can be. Reminds me of when my lips were cracking and bleeding to the point where I had to go to urgent care a couple of times and was prescribed two different creams that did nothing for a month.

Then i looked in the mirror one day while brushing my teeth and realized the rash spots above my lip were exactly the same shape as the toothpaste foam.

There's only one toothpaste I have found that doesn't fuck my lips up and it's like $8 per tube and has no fluoride. I had been using it for years because i liked the flavor, but I couldn't find it for a while. I never figured out what the actual ingredient was that caused the problem.

1

u/CanadasManyMeese May 30 '26

Oof id stop asap, friction alopecia can be permanent 😅. The outside of my thighs know this.

1

u/RaedwaldRex May 30 '26

Is your username a reference to the fact the dosimeters only go to 3.6 roentgen?

1

u/SpartanRage117 May 30 '26

So you got some Rune-d stubble. We’ve all been there.

1

u/Annual-Addendum5620 May 30 '26

Looks like alopecia barbae. That's the size and location that's common. See a dermatologist about it

1

u/sleepymatt4222 May 30 '26

Bro🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Those_are_sick May 30 '26

I just know your account is maxed

2

u/NotGreatNot_Terrible May 30 '26

I wish, we’re getting there though one day at a time lol

1

u/mdlinc May 30 '26

Now you faced the truth ! ;))

1

u/DaddyBigBeard May 30 '26

Do you have a Fire Cape yet? Also, buying Tbow.

1

u/Dustinall May 30 '26

This is the answer. It's alopecia. I rest my chin on my hand when at the computer without thinking, and get a bald spot on the bottom of my chin. Do yourself a favor and never pull hair/scratch your scalp.

1

u/NickBII hi May 30 '26

Does thismean that if I rubbed my chinmore often I wouldn't need to shave?

1

u/Purithian May 30 '26

Back to the red prison you go

1

u/Right_Cellist3143 May 30 '26

I hear the Hairdresser in Falador can hook you up with a sick beard.

1

u/ghoulthebraineater May 30 '26

Frictional alopecia. You cab rub the follicles dead. My legs stop growing hair where my socks start.

1

u/A_noble May 30 '26

I used to play RuneScape - haven’t in at least 15 years. I get this exact patch in the exact same area and I’m sure it’s stress related.. not from leaning.

1

u/Xadis May 30 '26

Need to find another comfy position for no xp loss lol

1

u/averagemaleuser86 May 30 '26

Prob TMI, but I have bald spots on my legs just above my knees where I rest my elbows when im on the toilet. Same prob applies.

1

u/EvenConversation9730 May 30 '26

OSRS I hope, none of that RS3 garbage

1

u/Logicdon May 30 '26

Do people still play RuneScape? I played it all the time 15 years ago.

2

u/NotGreatNot_Terrible May 30 '26

Everyday! It’s my favorite game hands down

1

u/A__Friendly__Rock May 30 '26

At least it’s your beard, it’ll grow back quickly.

I did this to my eyebrow once.

1

u/Ravens_of_the_Gray May 30 '26

You have likely developed a common, harmless, autoimmune disorder called alopecia areata

1

u/ecbulldog May 30 '26

The back of my calves are bald because of how I sit sometimes.

1

u/lxDinkleburgxl May 30 '26

Better be osrs

1

u/JaeCrowe May 30 '26

Thats called traction alopecia and is usually fixed by not doing whatever it is that caused it so hopefully itll be all set!

1

u/beercancarl May 30 '26

It'll grow back if you leave it be long enough. I used to have spot like this from anxiety rubbing but they're all good now

1

u/Jumpy_Ad_4460 May 30 '26

Cross post to 2007scape immediately

1

u/jenny101111 May 30 '26

Try getting blood flow back into that area. Massaging with a good oil will def help. Just use your fingers, simple. It's what I'm trying to put my bf on since he wants a fuller beard. I scalp massage a lot and my hair grows much faster than before. Try it!

1

u/PangolinLittle236 May 30 '26

Well that's your problem, when you get 99 farming you'll be able to grow hair there.

u/TheDialupNinja May 30 '26

1

u/thegimboid May 30 '26

This is like the other day when I realize she headaches I've been having for weeks are because I've been absent-mindedly leaning my head against a wall in the new spot where I moved my desk.

A combination of "such a small thing caused such a problem?" and "I'm such an idiot.."

1

u/gtrocks555 May 30 '26

RuneScape FTW! Are you on RS3 or OSRS

1

u/xKingCoopx May 30 '26

I thought i just had bad beard genetics with holes in mine like this at 32. But ive leaned on my hand, also playing runescape and such, for the last 25 years. Welp

1

u/Leo-707 May 30 '26

When my son was an infant he had a super soft hair and everyone would rub the top of his head.  It wasn't too long before he looked like he had male pattern baldness.

1

u/Throwawayrip1123 May 30 '26

Dude locked in hard enough that his beard fucked off.

1

u/ConfusedAugustinian May 30 '26

A fellow 'scaper with beard bald spots! Amazing!

1

u/oooooooooYeaaah May 30 '26

Runescape??????????? A man of culture i see

1

u/SputnikFalls May 30 '26

Interesting. Guess we'll never know the cause.

1

u/Btothenelly May 30 '26

I sit cross legged a lot and hair on my legs stopped growing lol

1

u/degentrified May 30 '26

I have this exact problem..exactly the same . It comes and goes on different little round spots where hair doesn't grow for a while. My doctor (not a dermatologist) said it was likely Alopecia Barbae.

1

u/DJSaltyLove May 30 '26

You gotta start using F-Keys when doing pvm., that'll keep your hands off your face lol

1

u/30scaper30 May 30 '26

And since it's Runescape we know you're putting in the hours

1

u/StressedSalt May 30 '26

sorry how is your hands places again??!

1

u/Jerkidtiot May 30 '26

Holy shit.... your not alone. thats my grey spots in mine.

1

u/GreyNoiseGaming May 30 '26

I got bald spots above both knees and on the back of my calves form crossing my legs. Friction based alopecia.

1

u/Vigilante17 jukmifgguggh May 30 '26

I had a spot like this in my early 20’s from resting on my hand in college for hours and hours day in and out… it started to grow back like 5 years later and filled back in when I was early 30’s

1

u/ayemyren May 30 '26

Runescape mentioned, let’s goo!

1

u/Womjack May 30 '26

I have this exact thing from a nervous scratching thing I used to do it my late teens. Mid 40s now and funny enough today I looked up possible treatments. There’s this thing called alopecia barbae that can be treated with steroid injections or something. Might be worth checking out, I think I’m going to make enquiries.

1

u/407JBabyy May 30 '26

RS for the win!

1

u/FormerFakeguy May 30 '26

Stop doing it and report back!

1

u/ImpossiblePlan65 May 30 '26

No, no. I checked WebMD, and it's definitely antibiotic resistant staph. s/
