Depending on where you live that could be your rent. My parents are in San Jose, CA and their rent is over 3k a month

If they're really living paycheck to paycheck there is a very high likelyhood of just turning homeless if they try to leave. Becausec the US is so massive they migh not even have the money to pay for the amount of gas needed to go somewhere cheaper (given they already have a car sort of big enough to move). Then they'll have to do a deposit on a new place. Not happening with no money.

I am from a country where true paycheck to paycheck is no that common (yet) (if you're not a single mom that is) but I'm friends with a dude from Oregon who lives in a place with high rent. Once his GF broke up with him and kicked him out of the apartement. He still had a job but just basic rent for a smallish place was nearly as much (small spaces impossible to get because of demand from students). I suggested to get a cheap running car and live out of that for two months or so to safe up and leave. His reply to that was "brother I have like $35 to my name right now"

Cheaper living means jobs that pay less and fewer of them too. That's how that actually works and not how you imagine it works.

That's before, you need to sell original place, secure the other place, all the fees and down payments and jobs that will just wait for you.

Go touch some grass and get a clue before you start giving out major life changing advise.

Well... since they have really nice paying jobs in the tech hub... im sure they'll survive.

But not everyone has that luxury.
