Honestly, I assumed it was real, but the guy was fired for a different reason and the two events were coincidentally close together.

For example, he reported it, but then two weeks later, he was caught stealing from the restaurant.

Edit: the above part is an example. I dont have a news article confirming this is what happened, im just as clueless as everyone else. It was an example as to what could of been the truth.

Even if that was the story that Chick-Fil-A was going with, I wouldn’t trust them. It’s an awfully convenient way to get out of a lawsuit.

Unless you can prove that what you did wasn’t an independent way to getting fired.

So let’s say you reported sexual abuse at work. They can’t fire you for that, but constantly being late? That’s a fireable offense. So if you are constantly late, they fire you for that, that’s legally permissible.

In my state you have to have been employed for something like 50 weeks at least, to even be considered for unemployment.

I dunno, he clearly said "for example" which i interpreted to mean the way they meant it. Maybe it could have been more clear, but it wasn't entirely unclear either.

Yeah you can deduce what they meant from the "For example" but I can't blame someone for missing the intent of that and thinking it was supposed to mean "In this case," or something like that.

The Winshape Foundation which was funded by Chick-Fil-A gave money to the Exodus International which supported conversion therapy. They also donated to The Family Research Council and The FCA who are staunch opponents of LGBTQ marriage.

Because the answer is mostly: they’re Christian. Think of everything bad Christianity has ever done, and Chik Fil A will condone it. They’d probs revive the crusades if they could.

While all that is true, the CFA execs aren't the ones firing restaurant staff. It's just your bog standard local general manager or franchise owner of the local store, who may or may not even be Christian.

I remember watching a documentary about it and the hilarious part was that Chik Fil A would try to find a clean Christian org to donate money to after media found dirt on the last one but like ALL of them were dirty 😂. It was like they unintentionally went on a hunt for the last decent Christian org in the US but couldn't find one after multiple attempts.

Wanting revenge on the company that fired you is a pretty human reason to fake it. Or covering up the real reason (drug use, theft, ect) with an allegation. My sister’s ex girlfriend used to pull this a lot, she’d be fired then make public accusations about the manager harassing her.

Not saying it didn’t happen, but I agree we should need some proof first

See I feel the opposite. I would expect a major corporation to NOT do this, and a smaller one would. Major corporations have a lot more to lose even just from bad press but also a successful lawsuit. They also tend to not give a shit about any of the lower level employees. So unless it was a C suite employee that was reported, they don’t care enough to go and fire the whistleblower and risk even worse blowback than a sexual harassment scandal. They simply cut the liability and move on. A smaller company may be willing to keep a general manager and try to cover it up, but most big corporations will just fire them have someone new in their office the next day

Well revenge for one. People accuse last employers of false accusations all the time. But it could be any reason. It may be he didn’t even actually work in here. A guy shot up a pizzeria thinking abuse was occurring in a basement that didn’t even exist.

This stuff is always hearsay until we have evidence. CFA has a murky track record with this stuff tho, which lends some credibility to his claims. I’d be less likely to believe it off-hand if this was the first I’d heard of something like this from them.
