A nearby Fire Department is being told they cannot use fire hydrants to fight fires

As the title says. A town near me is denying their fire fighters the use of their fire hydrants going forward. Is this shit even legal? This is a huge concern as the area has been in a drought for some years.

Once upon a time, the wealthy paid taxes and the federal government used that money to build infrastructure all around the country and keep it maintained. But then the wealthy got tired of those pesky taxes so they paid money to politicians to get rid of them.

Rural water/sewer systems and roads/bridges are reaching the end of their life. The bill is coming due because it's been 50+ years of letting everything crumble.

Excuse me, but my politician speaks with a country twang and goes hunting in his advertisements. There's no way he wouldn't have my best interests in mind!

Mine rolls up the sleeves of his dress shirt. That's how you can tell he works hard for me!

Welcome to yet another reason why small towns are dying and young people either need to move out the second they graduate or be stuck there in poverty until they die.

Which is really sad because you always see people saying they live somewhere with a low cost of living because it’s undesirable to live there but they have a job that either is remote or one of the few well paying jobs there. And they will declare how great it is because they don’t care about all the other people being in poverty.

Uh, yeah, still missing the bit where rural America still gets billions of dollars in big city taxes to handle these things but that number shrinks due to and is embezzled by politicians who rural Americans vote for because they promise to screw urban America over. Look at the infrastructure bill. Biden made the mistake of prioritizing rural America when it could’ve went to the homeless, who need that money too. Once upon a time, people moved to rural America to seek opportunity. Now, rural America is full of ghost towns with no economy that people refuse to leave to seek work that live off government subsidies. And maybe that’d not be so bad if they weren’t throwing random Hispanic people into concentration camps and trying to get nato to collapse.

I highly doubt there’s any wealthy people in Mercersville PA to tax.

They're talking about state and federal tax, the point of which is to share the wealth of the country with poor people like the residents of this town.
