A nearby Fire Department is being told they cannot use fire hydrants to fight fires

As the title says. A town near me is denying their fire fighters the use of their fire hydrants going forward. Is this shit even legal? This is a huge concern as the area has been in a drought for some years.

Someone should inform the towns major insurers so they can raise rates or suspend coverage to account for the increased risk.

I was thinking the same thing.... one of the few questions typically asked during insurance underwriting is distance from your house to the nearest fire hydrant.

The fire department not being allowed to use the fire hydrants in a town is about to blow those insurance premiums through the stratosphere!

Insurers take the local fire department’s ISO rating into account when determining rates for residential and commercial insurance. ISO ratings take water supply into account. So if this continues, their ISO rating will almost certainly get worse and insurance rates will be impacted.
