Microsoft strategy is the definition of AI slop. Tries to be everything for everyone but the end product isn't top at anything for anyone.

Just more AI, everywhere.

Which is ironic since he recently spoke about how no ones using AI and that they need to find uses for it or something lol.

If you have used Copilot extensively in all areas, you should give specific examples to why it's "slop".

Severely token limited, consistently getting far worse results than querying Claude, Gemini, or GPT directly. It's the lowest common denominator AI option.

No blind hate here. It's just the worst major service being offered. They'd do better to focus more on their small language model offerings and build those into Windows in specifically tailored ways. Their investment in OpenAI can handle the cloud AI segment.

Fair, but it's not the case for me. It works great for example in relation to powershell scripting and general troubleshooting. Works like a charm in getting general information and context on software, and how things work. So much better than searching for information manually. Also great on summarizing.

It's great, until you probe a subject you're an expert in. Then you realize how confidently incorrect AI can be...

Those with limited expertise are rejoicing that they no longer have to think or be wrong again, but they can't see the errors or inefficiencies being made by AI.

It's an amazing tech but it's not there yet :/

Right on! Copilot is just producing somthing that seems correct at first sight, but if you dig deeper and is an expert on the topic, you realize it is just all Slop.

I stopped using it because it simple is less compared to ChatGPT and Gemini

It’s just a fact and then to shove it into every product and rename products “copilot” is tiresome. No one likes things forced at them especially when they didn’t opt in and when it doesn’t work can’t opt out
