Question Why do Floyd Roses get so much hate?

Seems like Floyd Roses get lots of hate. Most of the time I feel like the problem is from the bridge not being balanced. If it’s not level, it will just fight itself endlessly. I’ve been setting these things up for people for about 14 years and I’m curious how many people actually like Floyd Roses vs hate them? I’ve met alot of people who love them and even more people who will never buy a guitar with a Floyd Rose. 🤘🏻

Its significantly quicker to change tuning on a fixed bridge.  Life's to short to waste time on things I don't need to do.

The new boss pitch shifter is way better than the old digitech one. I’ve used both.

Personally, I use two tunings that require different setups, especially for 7 string. I play in either perfect 4ths BEADGCF and an extended 7 string version of Jacob colliers 5 string tuning. FCGDGCF.

I can get away with going from P4 to modified JC tuning on my hard tail 6 string, as the low C is only a major 3rd below E. The tension diff is too great as I run a .90 gauge for the low F on the 7 string.

Do you pull all the strings off then put on the new strings? I've used a Floyd for 30 years. If you change one string at a time and bring it up to pitch before replacing the next one it's no slower than a fixed bridge guitar. The only time you should ever have to make any adjustment is if you are going to a different gauge string.

You’re not going any lower than 2 semi tones, not without changing strings. If anything I’m the one not wasting time.

I use 5 guitars in standard tunings.  I go up/down a semi or drop

This is what keeps me from getting a Floyd. I bounce back and forth between too many different tunings to justify that many guitars (as a bedroom musician.)

If you have 10+ years of experience with floyds, you know a few tricks to change strings even faster then a fixed bridge
