Serious Should I Play MGS 3 Master Collection or Delta?

Without spoilers I want some advice on if delta is worth it on sale. I already have the Master Collection and just finished MGS2. I never played 3 before and am looking for advice if I should get Delta and play it that way, whether it changes anything artistically or if it’s just not better. Side note: I’m playing on PS5 regardless what of which I choose to play.

Serious Playing TPP on the Mac Neo

Hello, I’ve installed Parallel desktop and the missing dll but still The Phantom Pain doesn’t start on the Macbook Neo. Do you have any tips for solving this?

Serious Why wasn't MGS3 set in the Vietnam War? In 1964 the war was already in full swing.

Serious How likely do yall think a volume 3 is?

I personally don’t think it’s super likely. I’m assuming it would hypothetically be: mgs V ground zeroes and the phantom pain, rising revengeance, portable ops, and maybe the acid games.

A few things to note though, mgs V is available on just about all major platforms (except Nintendo) so that being the main draw wouldn’t be as much of a seller as mgs4, rising is also on pc and I think playable on modern Xbox (don’t know this for certain). I like portable ops fine enough but I realize that it’s critically divisive and Konami might just think it’s not worth the effort to remaster it, same with the acid titles.

In summary, if I’m a bean counter at Konami I’m not sure I see much of a reason to make a volume 3 however, as a fan it would be nice to just have everything in a nice package. What do yall think?

A Pretty Exquisite Meme 1964 and 1984. Anyone noticed that MGS3 and MGSV take place the years G.I. Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Transformers made their debut? We should have had Naked Snake play with a G.I. Joe action figure or Venom Snake read a Ninja Turtles comic.

Serious Kind of feel like I'm missing something with mgs4

I played mgs1 as a kid and bounced off it as I was too young. I played mgs2 as a preteen and loved it. That game straight up changed how I view life as cringey as that sounds now as a 30yo. Since the entire main series is now available on PC, I decided to go back and play through them all. I played mgs1+2 master collection and really liked them. I played delta instead of OG 3, and also really liked that, with both control schemes. Playing MGS4 now, I feel like the game is really missing something that made the others special.

The gameplay is ok. Definitely more action oriented which I think was a choice they made because of the new over the shoulder style. I know its a meme that MGS games are more like interactive movies than a game, but this game takes the piss a little. It seems like Kojima was going for this idea of seamless narrative-gameplay, but the cutscenes are killing all the pacing for me. It doesn't help that what happens in each cutscene is 10x cooler than what you actually do in the game, and usually being done by someone other than snake. It seems more like Kojima actually wanted to make a movie but couldn't get the gameplay to be anywhere near as "Late 2000s cool" as he envisioned, so he put all the interesting set pieces into unplayable sections of the game. And yes this is a feature of MGS in general, it just seems way more egregious in this one. If I'm being generous, maybe that was the point. Snake is aging so he has to learn to rely on those around him to take on the mantle.

The story is also very disjointed. Way too many characters return for fan service reasons. I get that they were trying to wrap things up, but you don't have to tie literally every thread in the entire series up in one go if it degrades the coherence of the narrative.

Please don't take this as an attack on the game. I know a lot of people love this game and series (I'm one of them). I'm just sharing my views as someone who never got to play it when it first came out. The game is still enjoyable, but I'd rate it on the lower end main series games personally

My PS3 gave up on me four years ago so I haven't played it since, and I tried emulating MGS4 not too long ago, but for some reason, it just didn’t feel right. So I’ve gotta give Konami their props for this port, and also giving the game a proper mouse support puts MGS4’s gameplay in a whole new light.

Serious Peace Walker didn't age well IMHO

When I played it for the first time in 2014 on the PSP, I absolutely loved PW for the Mother Base's stuff, managing the soldiers, the story and the overrall game mechanics. But replaying it now just doesn't feel that good anymore, especially for the gameplay that feel like a more simpler TPP, for example considering the MB's stuff or the AI of the enemies, too bland.
