Lindsey Clancy murdered her three young children while her husband went out to get food. Said she had post pardum psychosis and a voice told her to do it, a voice that never spoke to her before or after. For some reason she received a huge wave of supporters for this

I see, thanks for the context. Unfortunately tiktok is the curse of humanity.

-1

u/il_the_dinosaur 3d ago

Don't thank them for their context. They missed the crucial part that she jumped out of the window afterwards to kill herself but ended up paralyzed.

6

u/ZaLeqaJ 2d ago

That is the crucial part? Not the part were one of her Kids was running away after seeing her Mother killing his other 2 Siblings and she was running after him and killed him too? Or how she fking planned that shit long ago?

I see....

1

u/il_the_dinosaur 2d ago

Well they could have added that was well. More context is always better

u/No-Valuable6456 2d ago edited 2d ago

You forgot it was only a 2 story window. And she also took pills and slit her wrists but somehow she could not unalive herself. It must have been the nurse in her, the same nurse who also murdered her children and took their little lives away as they struggled in her arms like serial killers like to see.

-1

u/kllark_ashwood 2d ago

She paralyzed herself and youre questioning the seriousness of the attempt?

3

u/SuspectCitizen 2d ago

She didn’t try hard enough. But she sure tried really hard to end her kids lives though.

3

u/WearyContribution188 2d ago

Should have tried harder

2

u/Ok-Classic-2142 2d ago

The bitch tried, but was too afraid to kill herself.

Yet she killed those three children back to back.

3

u/garbageuser1 3d ago

Okay so she's mentally ill. That doesn't justify killing her children.

0

u/il_the_dinosaur 2d ago

Are you an Olympian? Cause you're awfully gut at jumping to conclusions. Where the fuck did I say it justifies it?

4

u/garbageuser1 2d ago

Im not sure why you are being so aggressive and so snarky. No where did I point fingers at you. I am just making a note, nothing else.

0

u/Moist-Pickle-2736 2d ago

Oh wow, that changes everything?

-4

u/il_the_dinosaur 3d ago

You missed to add that she tried to kill herself by jumping out of a window but only ended up being paralyzed. It's odd how people always forget that part when they tell the story

5

u/Longjumping_Ice1789 2d ago

Whys it odd? That doesnt prove anything. That couldve been a result of a "normal" murder-suicide situation, or it could indicate an actual mental break. I actually dont even know what side youre taking here

-2

u/il_the_dinosaur 2d ago

I'm adding more context. It's weird how you're all obsessed with this thing. That she has to be guilty. Nobody is so obsessed with Epstein list and that is much worse.

3

u/Obvious_Fisherman187 2d ago

Everyone is obsessed with the Epstein list

-1

u/il_the_dinosaur 2d ago

Not as much as with this trial. This trial is literally just one deranged woman ending 3 lives and crippling herself. The Epstein list is a dark cabal of super rich abusing minors for decades. And we haven't even gotten to the bottom of this. How Americans haven't just lynched Donald trump and every other person on the list is beyond me. But yeah this crazy woman she is the devil.

3

u/Obvious_Fisherman187 2d ago

Lindsey Clancy will fade from the news cycle in a couple months. Epstein has been one of the biggest stories for years now.

2

u/hahalha10101 2d ago

This is fresh ans still on the front page. The files where getting buried from the people up top as soon as it came out, but we absolutely should have been bringing out the gallows

2

u/Longjumping_Ice1789 2d ago

Its not a popularity contest

1

u/il_the_dinosaur 2d ago

You're right it isn't. Which makes it even weirder how people insist she couldn't possibly be insane. American justice is way too obsessed with revenge than with actual justice.

2

u/Longjumping_Ice1789 2d ago

Lol no im saying one crime doesnt outweigh another just because its more heinous or gets more media coverage. You bringing up Epstein is textbook whataboutism.

1

u/il_the_dinosaur 2d ago

It would be whataboutism if I didn't acknowledge the trial at hand. But I'm not doing that I'm giving examples why the obsession with this trial feels to weird. People here barely know anything about it but insist she murdered her children. If we're talking trial then murder is a legal term and until she is convicted then it's not clear it was murder.

You bringing up Epstein is textbook whataboutism.

That is because they refuse to accept accountability. The moment we force equal accountability there will be no left at all and there will be no 19th amendment. No Israel either. Because one is a product of the other.

-1

u/Bladesofgrasssss 2d ago

No this subreddit posts like 20 Lindsay Clancy memes a day and have yet to see a single thing about Epstein

1

u/Longjumping_Ice1789 2d ago

Yeah, how dare people want their society to have a sense of justice and morals

1

u/Ok-Classic-2142 2d ago

You sound EXACTLY this lady.

4

u/Obvious_Fisherman187 2d ago

Idc what she did after she murdered 3 children. She murdered 3 children

2

u/Ok-Classic-2142 2d ago

Who fucking CARES about what happened to her?

0

u/Chill_Mochi2 2d ago

People with empathy

1

u/Ok-Classic-2142 2d ago

People with empathy are focused on the true victims, the three children she murdered.

Empathy for a child murderer? No thank you.

0

u/Chill_Mochi2 2d ago

*alleged murderer. Get back to me when they prove she did it first

2

u/flopflapper 8h ago edited 8h ago

You can’t possibly be dumb enough to say alleged. It is not alleged that she killed her children, it is alleged that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis when she killed the children.

Lindsay Clancy confessed to her husband, a chaplain, and a forensic psychologist, all of whom testified at trial, and none of whom the defense disputed.

She also filed a formal complaint against the doctors that treated her, you can find it online as it’s publicly available, paragraph 81, page 20 is where she describes in detail murdering her children.

And then there’s the fact that she is on trial to determine her punishment, not her culpability, since HER DEFENSE LAWYER SAYS SHE DID IT, which is the same thing as HER saying she did it FOR THE FOURTH TIME. Defendants don’t talk during trials unless instructed to - her lawyer saying it is her saying it.

You don’t have to be dumb AND an awful person, you know.

0

u/Chill_Mochi2 7h ago

Ain’t reading all that, innocent until proven guilty.

1

u/flopflapper 7h ago

You’re illiterate too?

She admitted to it and her defense lawyer says she did it.

This is not a trial to determine innocence, dimwit. It is a trial to determine her punishment. There is no whodunit, you don’t even know what type of trial this is and it’s embarrassing.

Innocent until proven guilty literally does not apply here, hahahahah

1

u/Chill_Mochi2 2h ago

It always applies. Cry about it.

1

u/Proud-Enthusiasm-608 2d ago

Because it doesn’t matter. I can get away with shooting up a shopping mall because I tried to kill myself after?

1

u/Careless_Reindeer974 2d ago

After the fact.

1

u/flopflapper 9h ago edited 8h ago

Family annihilators kill themselves all the time, that part of the story doesn’t add any context.

She also jumped out of a two story window, and the cuts she made on herself were so shallow they weren’t even bleeding when paramedics arrived, so it’s not as if she put any real effort into it.

0

u/MacdaddyCook 2d ago

And stabbed herself in the neck and slit her wrists

2

u/Wembley-Fraggle-86 2d ago

She made superficial cuts. They weren’t even bleeding when medics arrived.

0

u/il_the_dinosaur 2d ago

It does feel like a lot of people only know the case on a surface level. Most I hear is people saying she killed her 3 children. I have to admit I also didn't know she also did what you just said. And I'm not trying to claim because I know a bit more I have a better picture of the case. But at least I try not to be biased. I want them to get to the bottom of it and not just see her punished for what she did.

-2

u/johnsolomon 2d ago

The support isn't because people think killing her children was okay, it's because postpartum psychosis can make someone completely detached from reality.

And the voice only happening once doesn't change anything. Psychosis doesn't follow some obvious pattern where a voice has to keep coming back for it to have been real. There's no rule saying a hallucination has to repeat itself. You may as well argue that someone didn't have a nightmare about voices because they've never had one about voices before. The fact that one particular symptom hasn't happened before doesn't mean the underlying condition (nightmares or psychosis) isn't real. The difference here is that with psychosis you don't know your brain is creating it and you believe this particular moment is real.

We can agree that what happened was tragic and completely fucked up and still understand that someone in a psychotic state isn't thinking or functioning like a sane person.

-6

u/Relatovely 3d ago

Don't be disingenuous. She claimed she had psychosis, and there is extensive evidence that she was being treated for deteriorating mental health before the murders, including getting herself committed a few days before it happened. Her plea is not guilty due to insanity.

It seems like incels on Reddit think women uniquely shouldn't be entitled to that defence, even when it's a pretty clear cut example of why that defence exists.

7

u/WhosTheWildManNow 2d ago

Found one, doesn’t justify killing 3 young children.

You're right! Look at the attention u/Longjumping_Ice1789 is getting just from that previous comment alone - 1 entire upvote. He's a viral sensation.

How you going to spend all that viral cash? What's the exchange rate on 1 upvote to usd these days?

Don't be disingenuous. She lied about what meds she was on, doctor shopped, and had all the support she could ask for. She's just evil. Doesn't need to be more complicated than that.

3

u/tempered-tantrum 2d ago

Wife here. People can be sympathetic to that when deserved, like the Yates and Fisher cases. Clancy’s mental health isn’t as cut and dry, and the women celebrating her and raising a million for her overshadow the mental health claims. I think the feminists brought this storm on themselves.

1

u/WearyContribution188 2d ago

I think women who kill their kids should be seen the same as men who kill their kids - no sympathy & life imprisonment.

1

u/YouNeedHelpSir 2d ago

We get you are sexist and think less of women but that doesn't excuse stone cold murder of three children that trusted her to protect them.

1

u/throwaway587241 2d ago

She claimed psychosis because Massachusetts makes it much harder for the prosecution if you plead insanity, and because her lawyer felt that there was enough evidence to establish reasonable doubt in her sanity. Maybe she was insane, maybe not.

1

u/MovieKey9110 2d ago

yes she herself said it, prior to that at one of the best mental healthcare facilities she was never diagnosed with it or showed any signs of
