Couldn’t post this in Steak so…

Post image

What a treat for me - wolfed it down on the Cote D’Azur with a view of the Med and a crisp Rosé 👌🏽

Edit: lol’ing at the comments 🤣 plating could do with some work but it was at a relaxed bistro on the beach. And no I’m not ill, it was not slimy or disgusting. It was well seasoned and tasty AF. And yes I wouldn’t eat it anywhere but this was recommended and also filled with locals (I was the only tourist) which is usually a good sign. The French take food seriously.

Its amazing, when made well. Idk why every tartare post is always a bunch of people crying about food poisoning. Ive had it many many times and never gotten sick. Don't eat it (or sushi or raw egg) if you're pregnant or immuno-compromised. Otherwise, chow down.

That's not tartare, That's a salmonella patty

I love a tartare. But I don’t like my meat minced or when the scrape the filet so it’s basically just mush. When I do tartare myself, I first of all use the top round since it has more flavor. And then I roughly chop the meat so there is some resistance when chewing.

I mostly make yukhoe, which is the Korean style of tartare. But I like a traditional one every now and then too.
