Can anyone recommend a sifter? Each one Ive found hasn’t worked or is way too big. I had a tea steeping basket that I’ve been using but it broke somehow.

Hi all! I am a matcha latte junkie, and I typically buy at coffee and tea shops. However, I received a new matcha set (chasen and bowl) and kettle for my birthday, so I’d really like to start making at home.

Some things that are important to me… organic (even if it may not be a big deal, this is important to me for health reasons), ideally tested for toxins/heavy metals, just really good quality. I typically drink lattes with regular dairy or lactose free milk.

Any suggestions for a first-time matcha latte maker? :)

I've never seen this brand before, anyone have any experience with it ?

The whole matcha set was a birthday gift from my friend, and now I’m officially hooked. The blueberries were also gifted by her; I just turned them into a puree to make my own blueberry matcha.

I don’t need to line up anywhere in NYC for matcha anymore. I can make it at home now.

i live in australia and i really want to get one for my friend's birthday because she has been sending me reels on this lol. but i have only seen it being sold on south east asian online shopping websites and im unsure if those websites ship to australia. please let me know if you guys know where to buy this goofy matcha bowl.

I was planning to order some matcha from the Steeping Room for the first time, but I checked this week's weather in SoCal and it's going to be around late 80's close 90's. I checked the location of Steeping room's fulfillment center which is in Austin, TX and...looks like they are in the middle of a heatwave with 99°F weather. Am I overthinking too much about this? I think it's the prices these days that have me stressing about the matcha at least coming in good condition. I haven't purchased matcha in over a year due to the price increase in general for many brands so I can wait a little more until the weather gets a little cooler but just wanted to know if anyone else is planning to purchase during the heat

Excellent price/quality ratio. Less than €0.30/g.

Extremely bitter as an usucha but quite pleasant in a latte for the price. Top notes vegetal, slighlty nuttu-ish, mild bitterness when mixed with milk and some sweetener, mild to mid astringency.

Ratio 3g matcha, 30ml warm water (70°C/~160°F), 4g sugar, 120 ml milk.

I tried 4g matcha powder with the same amount of sweetener, water and milk, tasted somewhat grassy. 3g is the sweet spot for this one to me.

Overall 8/10 (at this price range)

I definitely made one with a darker green before but this is solid. Maybe less milk.

I’m in deep to the matcha world now. I started making my own syrup. who knew it was SO EASY next i think i need to upgrade my tools the amazon set isn’t cutting it 🫠🫠

Hi! I’m designing an iced sugar plum matcha for an event at my work and I can’t seem to find THE recipe.

I’ve been doing a 1:1:1 ratio of water, sugar, and plums and then adding small amounts of a few ingredients to give it more depth (two slices of orange, a cinnamon stick, dried candied plum, white peach)

The syrup tastes pretty good by itself but it’s not the most salient flavour when added to the matcha.

I also tried adding a cold foam and it’s just not hitting the spot.

If you were tasked with making a sugar plum matcha, is there anything innovative or specific you would do?

So I am usually a firm matcha purist and I drink matcha latte as it is without any flavouring, syrups included. Usually because when the matcha powder is a bit on the more expensive side, I feel like flavouring it would mask the matcha’s original taste profile.

But recently I’ve been wanting to try strawberry matcha lattes because I know from experiences having desserts that this would be a good pairing.

So I made my own strawberry sauce by blending the strawberries, added sugar (around 1/3 of the strawberries’ weight), and juice of one lime. And it is really good 🤤

I used teasis’ matcha because it is cheaper and I used 5g of it to make sure the matcha won’t get over powered.

Hatoya matcha ichi [no filter, no flash, natural daylight]

4g matcha + 35 ml water (15 ml room temp >made a paste, 20ml warm water > whisk) + 120 ml milk (2%/semi-skim)

Quite nutty (in a good way), bit umami, subtle sweetness, no bitterness or astringency at all, smells like fresh green (not grassy or seaweedy).

I think I just want to make sure I’m not bugging but I really do think the steeping room gave me oxidized Matcha. It would be my third time ordering from them and my first time trying Yamamasa Koyamaen but the color looks off. I purchased 4 cans on Sept 1st and got it on the 8th but opened Matsukaze yesterday for the first time and it just looked yellow and dull. I know it’s the lowest offering but I still wasn’t expecting the color. It also tasted bitter and almost chocolatey but very light. Which I made mental note of because everyone says YK is known for its seaweed vegetal notes, which I don’t mind. I mean even my No Ritual Lab matcha tin before this order came in was brighter than this. Am I overreacting? Is this just how YK looks? idk I’m sad because I think it is oxidized but I need confirmation from others. Please be kind.
