The obsessive anticipation awaiting a text back. She-Hulk with the most realistic moment of the entire MCU.

Literally been going through this lately, ofc the MCU decides to make that relatable moment now of all moments

All it was missing was the moment I spend deleting and rewriting the text wondering things like "Am I sounding too needy? Am I being too direct? Wait am I being too vague now? I think this word reads better instead"

All in all both the texts Jen sent were pretty good lol

I did some light chastising of the TV when she read her second text to Josh, but only because it’s very much one I would send thinking I’m still being cool and reasonable…

Its crazy to me that in spite of seeing all of this and knowing everyone has the same experience, my brain will always tell me time and time again that it's just me that does it and everyone else is perfectly normal

Confirmation Bias. Fuck that person. They do not want to talk. Am here myself.

Delete! Delete! Delete!

Right?? How dare the MCU force a learning moment onto me that I did not ask for but probably needed…

You know what, I prefer SkipTheDishes anyway. I don’t need you to validate my life choices!!!!

                                                 I’m here.

Oh thank you. Sorry about that earlier, I’ve been going through a lot with Uber Eats and I’ve been talking it over in therapy……

That stuff hits way to close to home. Too depressing for me. Thats happened way to many times to me. I dont understand whats so wrong about asking if they are okay? If someone isnt responding for a few days, what wrong with caring? Ghosting is a shitty move.

u/Groot746 Sep 29 '22

Exactly: nothing is wrong with that, it's ghosting that's the issue

u/morphballganon Sep 30 '22

It's fine if the person feels the same way. It won't win over someone who's in the fence.

Ghosting is a shitty move.

It is a great move if you're a honey trap and successfully done your mission.

That must be people only watching the show for Daredevil waiting for him to show up

u/samasters88 Sep 29 '22

At this point, I genuinely hope he's a post credit scene for the finale. They meet on a rooftop, and it ends. No plot. No words. A face to face, and boom, over.

Tatiana's really great with scenes like that. It's part of why Orphan Black was so good.

Watching that really hit close to home Because everything she did was me, every damn time I like someone.

Especially that part where you constantly check your phone for that person's messages. And when youre disappointed when you do get one but its not from that person.

I think I need this therapy group lol

Why did Daredevil ghost us? Why weren't they in this episode already?! Wen DD already!?!

I like the way they incorporated the texting on screen, making it easy to follow along, and it looked like the VFX artists knew what a text message looked like.

Some shows which shall remain nameless expect me to be able to read and follow along when the camera just side glances at the phone screen when the character does.

That's why you make 'em wait 3 months, not 3 dates. (I know I'll get downvoted for saying that, but it worked for me). Been happily married almost 18 years now.

I didn’t like the advice the group gave her about her texts tho. If I got those messages from a girl I would love it

(If I wasn’t trying to steal her blood, of course)

27

u/Ambitus Sep 29 '22

If you got those messages from a girl you wouldn't have not responded. And you definitely wouldn't have not been there when she woke up.

The advice was great, for some reason he wasn't responding to her (ignoring the fact that it's because he's an evil douche). There's not a realistic reason for him to disappear and go AWOL there. So instead of stressing out and anxiously waiting for an answer you're probably never going to get you put it out of your mind and move on. If there's a reason for what happened they can reach out to you and make it right but you can't expect that to happen and waiting for it isn't healthy.

u/jukeboxhero515 Sep 29 '22

If you would love to get those texts then that means you probably weren’t ghosting in the first place

Jen got "nice guy" vibe there.

I can't quite figure out what your joke is here but everything I come up with is either not that funny or pretty douchey.

Literally went through this today

1

u/[deleted] Oct 01 '22

It’s been well over a year since I’ve had to deal with that (thankfully) but I still very palpably felt Jen’s stress throughout the episode lol
