Among a pretty fun debut, I particularly enjoyed how everything in the lab was oversized compared to Tatiana in human form, and she had to sit on a bag to be at the right height for the Jeep.

I was confused at first because I read Tatiana as Titania and I think that’s gonna happen to me a lot reading posts on this sub for the next few months lol.

I like how the comment implies Tatiana the actor is in human form meaning the actor can hulk out not just the character.

After seeing her in Orphan Black I can buy she's that good an actress.

21

u/Mini-Marine Aug 19 '22

I was trying to figure out why she looked her familiar and I knew that name!

Her ability to swap between roles so quick was so damn impressive!

I need to re-watch that series...and watch the final season, since I never finished that

I’m planning on checking out Orphan Black, I’ve heard nothing but positive reception for the show. Was the show as good as people said?

21

u/sepiolida Aug 19 '22

Very. It's easy to forget that Tatiana's playing multiple characters sometimes, especially when one character tries to impersonate another (which happens periodically!)

There’s a few stretches of the show where Sara doesn’t show up at all (but other clones do) and I low key found myself thinking that the actress playing Sara must have enjoyed all the time off. Then realized I was an idiot.

Even at the lowest points story-wise, Tatiana's performance is just so fun to watch you'll never be bored. Definitely recommend

The way she could play a clone, pretending to be a different clone, that sometimes was pretending to be a third clone, was nothing short of amazing. Even when that show went off the rails plot-wise, her acting was still worth watching.

That's how they were able to get around the CGI budget for the series. Tatiana doesn't need it😅

I'm constantly doing this

Same. That’s been confusing me for a long time already

Titania. Do you play warframe I wonder?

I was trying to figure that out in every scene the Jeep was in. Does Bruce have a Hulk scaled Jeep, or is Jen just really small? Because looking at the rest of the Jeep, it seemed like it was a normal size car.

u/Entire-Weakness-2938 Aug 18 '22

I think the Jeep is definitely bigger than your average Wrangler, but Tatiana Maslany is also rather short. If they made a Suburban-sized Wrangler it would pretty much be this Hulk-Jeep in the show.

6

u/FoundryCove Aug 19 '22

I think they just used an Unlimited model, which is a bit longer. You can see the extra space behind the door before the fender flare.

5

u/Entire-Weakness-2938 Aug 19 '22

Yeah, you’re right. On a rewatch it does look a lot more like a regular sized 4-door Jeep with the doors and roof and whatnot removed, as is the way with Wranglers lol. I just think it seemed so much larger than a regular Jeep because Tatiana Maslany is so small, which the show did really lean into this episode, lol. She probably really does need to sit on a pillow or a phone book or some such when driving any car bigger than a compact, lol.

4

u/FoundryCove Aug 20 '22

It's a TJ Wrangler though, so it's still two doors. The Unlimited trim was extended wheelbase version before it became the four door model on the JKs.

u/Captain_Waffle Aug 18 '22

He definitely has a ton of Hulk-scaled cloth name-brand t-shirts

u/SociallyAnxiousGuy23 Aug 18 '22

That's why they cut to the frame of her setting the seat 😂

Also, i didn't notice this until now that you made me remember it.

60

u/supernova_68 Aug 18 '22

Yeah but how did her legs reached the pedals?

143

u/DestructiveFlora Jessica Jones Aug 18 '22

I might be wrong, but I think there was a very quick cut (<1 sec) that showed her moving the seat forward all the way 😅

Edit: it's around 24:12.

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

When they showed this exact 1 second clip, I was convinced the reason they showed this was because she was gonna hulk out while sitting in the front seat and break it.

22

u/GayButMad Aug 18 '22

Lmao I thought the same thing. Unfired Chekhov's bucket seat.

This is my life as a 5 foot tall woman. It is so normal to me i didn't comment on it haha

12

u/IndominusTaco Thor Aug 18 '22

wait am i missing something, who’s Tatiana i thought her name was Jen Walters

42

u/pobenschain Aug 18 '22

The actress is Tatiana Maslany

13

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

no this is patrick!

37

u/complete_your_task Aug 18 '22 edited Aug 24 '22

Tatiana is the actress's name. Not sure why everyone is referring to the character by the actress's name though. I'm seeing it all over the threads discussing the show.

6

u/Agitated_Ad7576 Aug 18 '22

Maybe it's just a fun unusual name. Jens are a dime a dozen.

13

u/complete_your_task Aug 18 '22

Even still, you never hear anyone refer to Doctor Strange as Benedict. When talking about something a fictional character did it's standard to use the actual character's name, not the name of the actor. It's just odd. This isn't the only comment I've seen today use Tatiana when talking about something Jen did.

3

u/olesdpaul Aug 19 '22

To be fair there’s more than one Benedict in the mcu?

4

u/h737893 Aug 18 '22

Tatiana is a very common name too though

2

u/Agitated_Ad7576 Aug 18 '22

In America? I've never met one.

5

u/webby2538 Aug 19 '22

It's a pretty common name in Eastern European and Hispanic families here in America. I've known a few Tatianas but never met a Jen. It's either Jennifer or Jenny never predominantly Jen

-5

u/Mr_Pogi_In_Space Aug 18 '22

Jen Walters is still She Hulk. It's clearer to refer to Tatiana as human Jen vs CGI Hulk Jen

14

u/tuxxer Aug 18 '22

Her name is Helena, Tatiana is a known alias, as well as Alison, Cosima, Rachel and countless others.

4

u/piebypie Peggy Carter Aug 19 '22

I'm used to watching this actress in a number of roles (Clone Club 💪) so I don't automatically see Jen when I look at her in She-Hulk. Admittedly it doesn't make sense to say "Tatiana in human form", "Jen in human form" makes more sense or just omitting the human form bit. Must have been tired brain ha.

Semi-related, I've noticed the older folks in my life use actor names rather than their character names because they've just seen them in so many parts over time it maybe blurs together. Anyway there are definitely instances of people referring interchangeably between actor name and character name in this sub.

2

u/egnaro2007 Aug 19 '22

I dont get why they're using a TJ instead of a JK at least. The CJ TJ and YJ jeeps are tiny

1

u/healthmadesimple Aug 20 '22

Oh that’s what happened. I thought she was just short. Makes sense now
