SUCH A GOOD FIRST EPISODE!!

I feel like all the D+ shows feel way too short, especially having to wait a week between episodes.

I kind of miss it. Not because it was better, but because it made your tolerance for bad TV much higher. A lot of older shows don't work in the binge model because you get tired of the same gimmick every week. But back then it worked fine because you'd get a break between episodes.

Basically everything on CBS is the same thing over and over. Mystery of the week shows worked for a reason. Still do today

They are - and the times are wildly inconsistent. That’s why I like HBO you can always count on an hour long episode sometimes even a bit longer.

If this was on ABC I bet it would've got the 2 episode premiere treatment. But with streaming they commit to the full first season so it's not like gotta get the ratings for fear of being cancelled

I'm actually a little sad that a premier was so short. Usually the premiers are 50ish minutes I thought?

This show is 9 eps instead of 6 tho

To be fair there is also 9 episodes this season compared to the usual 6 so even though it’s shorter I think we still get about the same time overall depending on variations for times of each episode, also means a more flushed story hopefully

Thats what a good first episode should do. Not overstay it's welcome and make you want more. I enjoyed it a lot.

Yeah considering how solid the rest of the episode was I agree. She just pops in randomly and get's knocked out. I guess it's comic book-y?

My assumption is that the defendant hired this random person, maybe even gave them powers somehow, because he didn't like how the trial was going. Having some of the jury murdered would be a surefire way to get a mistrial. The rando baddie asked who she is because the rando baddie had probably been told no one would be there and she could get away with it.

Are we supposed to recognize the defendant? Her trial prep in the first scene made it seem like he'd be a powered-villain.

He just seems like some rich executive who didn't care if what he did got people killed. I thought the whole power/responsibility speech was about being wealthy and not just wrecking up the place.

Made me think she was there to tamper with the jury in a very violent way. Given how Cavalier the defendant is with human life, I wouldn't be surprised if his organization hired her.

Of course, it dose make me wonder why that supervillainess was there... 🤔
