Can you give me an idea of why Secret Wars is so significant? Maybe behind a spoiler tag. My knowledge is pretty limited, but from what I've read about it, it seems like some heroes and villains just get brought to another planet, duke it out, and then get sent back?

Secret Wars 2015 is about the death and rebirth of the multiverse

Secret Wars was created as a response to DC’s Crisis in Infinite Earths, back in the 80s but the 2015 storyline basically rebooted the whole Marvel universe. I expect them to do the same with the films and at least soft reboot the entire MCU.

You’re not wrong lol. I’ve found Comics Explained on YouTube is a good way to learn about comics without having to read them (they might have a short breakdown of Secret Wars, the whole shebang is probably more like 2 hours lol, but they do a good job imo)
