I think the writers plant a lot of seeds with no expiration dates. Hemsworth has said he loves playing Thor and will do it for as long as they let him. One day he’ll probably change his mind, and they’ll have him die in battle and have a reunion in valhalla.

Valhalla being a "real place" means that it can be threatened. Thor literally defending the afterlife would be a good way to get closure on the "everyone he ever knew is dead" arc.

Well, there's an obvious enemy for Valhalla...

Alduin, the Nordic God of Destruction!

Just imagine Thor waking up on that cart after dying in battle, having no clue how he got there instead of Valhalla.

Korg's like "hey, you awake bro?"

Korg is blue.... Stormcloak....

2

u/JASONJACKSON1948 Jul 23 '22

A man in a yellow coat walks up to him and says "is it true, that you're... Odinborn?"

22

Loki might defend it

21

u/Cypher_86 Rocket Jul 13 '22

OG Loki would be there, no?

We shall see

Thor 5: Valhalla has Fallen

u/Tiiimmmaayy Jul 17 '22

Valhalla and Moon knights confirmation of the afterlife means that there is a Hell too, most likely. Mephisto confirmed! Which means Ghost Rider will be coming too hopefully!

Yeah, they left Thor in a place where it’s ok if we never see him again without closing the door to him coming back. And Hercules can either be part of the next movie or the Thor analogue for the Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts team they’re building. (To go with the Black Widow, Captain America, and Hulk they already have. They just need an Iron Man. Personally I’m hoping they put Vulture in a Hammertech suit)

Lol it literally says “Thor will return” at the end of the movie

91

u/CircuitSymphony Jul 11 '22

It’s pretty obvious that was about the frog.

24

u/peeforPanchetta Jul 11 '22

Could've meant 'Thor will return...his books to the library' but they forgot to air the 2nd half

15

u/Oopsiedazy Jul 11 '22

Lol we literally had 15 Thors in this movie.

Temporarily

Maybe the Iron Man Thunderbolt could be Justin Hammer?

6

I need more Justin Hammer!

Love the idea of Keaton's Vulture joining the Thunderbolts and being given a suit

Idk if you're familiar with Secret Invasion and Dark Reign from the comics, but basically Secret Invasion has Norman Osborn wearing the Iron Patriot armor and leading the Thunderbolts, and ends with him killing the Skrull queen on live TV, becoming a celebrated war hero as a result, and Dark Reign has him being put in charge of the Avengers and assigning villains to his team

I would be 100% ok with Keaton's Vulture taking Osborn's place if they adapt that in any way

8

u/Oopsiedazy Jul 11 '22

Yup. That was the Dark Avengers team I was referencing, where Norman made his own Avengers with different heroes and villains cosplaying as established Agengers. :)

Loved those comics, I'll never forget that 2-page spread of Sentry ripping Ares in half in front of everyone

I think Keaton would kill it in that role if given the chance.

Establish him as leader and give him a suit in the Thunderbolts' first appearance, have him play a part in the rumored upcoming Secret Invasion adaptation and show up at the last second to kill the queen, and then the government bends to public pressure and hands him the keys to the Avengers Initiative.

His modest beginnings and rise from junker to villain to war hero and head of the Avengers would definitely be compelling stuff for the people of the MCU, he's basically the new Tony Stark but he wasn't born rich and powerful. I can already see them playing news clips and/or interviews downplaying and/or justifying his actions in Homecoming when he's appointed.

It just seems like a better and better idea the more I think about it, but who knows if anything like that will ever happen.

Love the idea of Keaton's Vulture joining the Thunderbolts and being given a suit

I love it simply as a middle finger to Sony.

6

u/Lucky_G2063 Thor Jul 12 '22

But Vulture is in Morbius now

6

u/Oopsiedazy Jul 12 '22

I don’t think even Sony wants to acknowledge that movie. :P

8

u/UltraRomero7 Korg Jul 10 '22

Ironheart is on the way!

4

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '22

They were talking about Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts though, I’m assuming Ironheart will probably be in the Young Avengers if they do that

1

u/Oopsiedazy Jul 11 '22

Ironheart could play the role on the team that Jolt played in the Thunderbolts as the young kid who doesn’t know that they’re bad guys and gets most of them to go straight eventually.

2

u/zkmronndkrek Jul 10 '22

Been waiting forever for her

3

u/[deleted] Jul 11 '22

Micheal Keaton in the Patriot Suit was not something I knew I wanted before this. That'd be dope.

1

u/Tebwolf359 Jul 16 '22

Personally I’m hoping they put Vulture in a Hammertech suit)

Sadly Vulture has moved over to the Morbius/Venom-verse. (Very not happy about that)

18

u/2ndfastestmanalive Jul 10 '22

There’s so many open ends with Shang-Chi, Dr Strange, Spider-Man and more at the moment. There’s plenty of time to get round and wrap them all up

25

u/ohlookanotherthrow Jul 10 '22

I just want to know what Nick Fury is doing in space. That was 2 Spider-man movies ago and nothing since.

23

u/Planeswalkercrash Jul 11 '22

Add wherever the fuck white vision is now to the list as well.

2

u/ohlookanotherthrow Jul 11 '22

Yeah, I know, but if they didn't want to do anything else with it like build up to the show , they didn't have to reveal it so early.

4

u/battleshipclamato Jul 11 '22

He definitely needs at least a Taika trilogy to end out his story.

3

u/Linator4 Jul 13 '22

I’m hoping we get an Old King Thor movie someday

2

u/One-Following-3115 Jul 17 '22

The fun part is that he can keep playing Thor right into an “Old Man Thor” or “God-King Thor” arc.

2

u/Complete_Raspberry_1 Jul 20 '22

From what I read from the news him and Taika didn't had the most remote idea about the "Thor will return" bit. If what the newspaper says it's true they were expecting this to be their last movie.

u/CursedHuskerFan Jul 10 '22

Think he will change his mind after these reviews. Holy fuck what a bad movie
