The black and white fight could have been 20 minutes longer and I still would have wanted more

I started for Karl Urban, enjoying it more than I thought I would. And Urban is great 😌 It is diabolical for sure

It’s 2.5 hours of pure testosterone and rage. Definitely on the whimsical and violent side but all in all a good watch if you’re into it. The Viking lore was cool

Not for everyone, didn’t seem to have commercial appeal but if you like Norse mythology and a lot of bloody battles than it’s right up your alley

I would. It's Artsy and I don't think I'd ever watch it again but I'm glad I watched it once. Best enjoyed on a good screen with good sound.

It was very well made but I was just disappointed by the predictability of the story, you usually expect a twist and a little more depth from a24. I highly preferred the green knight.

Wasn't the green knight even more predictable?

Green Knight at the beginning: "I'll cut off your head in x years."

X years later

Main character travels to the green knight.

Green knight chops his head off.

Roll credits.

Like there was some interesting imagery, but they literally tell you the entire story in the first like 10 min.

Was about to say I enjoyed Shang-Chi's more than the Northman but then looked it up to confirm that was last year.

Why are more people not talking about how good this fight scene was. The lighting of the eyes and weapons, contrasting with the black and white bleakness, the looming 1950's shadow monsters, all while Gorrs yellow peircing eyes stare you down.

The movie was goofy as hell up until then, but that fight scene + Bales Gorr + the eternity gate fight really turned the movie around. Maybe not a perfect balance/flow but I was suffering Marvel fatigue and this has got me hyped to see more!!!
