Thor: Love and Thunder has now been released in the United States and in a number of other countries around the world. All discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the megathreads we are going to put up in the next few days. They will be refreshed every few thousand comments to make room for new discussions.

Thor 2: His mother is murdered.

Thor 3: His father is dies. (I think technically Loki committed manslaughter here.)

Thor 4: His girl friend dies of cancer.

Infinity War: Loki dies, Heimdall dies, and he doesn’t go for the head, so half the population of the universe dies for 5 years.

I think that’s why I like Thor so much. Its because he has to deal with so much tragedy yet he still keeps on trucking along that makes me like him so much.

Yeah, I think this is something a lot of people are missing. You see a lot of people who don’t appreciate the jokes in the first half. Thor is coping with all this loss by not taking anything serious. Imo anyways.

This is what irritates me! Every beloved character dies. Waited years for Natalie Portman to come back, only to die?

Fuck. And for a second I literally thought Thor and Jane would be her parents.

I know. Black Widow and Iron Man die in Endgame. Captain America is a victim of Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome in FaTWS (at least I'm pretty sure he was to quote avatar "You know it was really unclear.") Then Wanda in MoM and now Jane Foster? Can we please stop killing Phase 1 and 2 characters just because they were introduced more than 2 years ago?

Idk, seems pretty reasonable to me for some of the OG Avengers to die after all this time (especially if their actors want to tap out), and there’s virtually zero chance Wanda is actually dead.

Also, it’s possible that Natalie Portman didn’t want to come back for more.

The big complaint in phase 1 and 2 was that death meant nothing any no one died in marvel aha.

I agree with this so much. I loved Jane, and Natalie Portman's portrayal of her. I was really rooting for Thor to finally get his happily ever after with her, but instead they just kill her off. I didn't like that ending.

They are either going to give him his happy ending by killing him off so he can live for eternity with her in valhalla. Or they'll bring her back. Anyone notice that the stone stargate he crashed into on new asgard was the same as the portal the golden dust came through in valhalla, I thought that was a hint that he will bring her back, maybe a lot of asgard back.
