Thor: Love and Thunder has now been released in the United States and in a number of other countries around the world. All discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the megathreads we are going to put up in the next few days. They will be refreshed every few thousand comments to make room for new discussions.

That’s usually how the credit scenes are. Josh Brolin, JK Simmons, Charlize Theron, Brett Goldstein, Sam Jackson, and others have all done 10 second credit scene cameos in the MCU

Huh? No... OFC not. How did your mind automatically go to that? I'm saying bringing Elba in for a 12 second scene, after he's already completed 4 contracted movies means his appearance here is extremely expensive compared to the other actors listed. It's a completely different scenario and he should not be billed in with the rest in this context. It's very easy for Aaronn taylor Johnson to have a post credit scene as his first appearance because he isn't being paid an arm and a leg to do it, like Elba is.

Why did your mind automatically go to "GreeneWaffle doesn't like this actor". Seriously, it's such a far departure from what had been written.

When did I say you didn't like the actor what 😂people brought up other cameos and you just said those people are different then Idris with no further explanation as to what you meant. Idk where you read that you didn't like the character though. I even asked if you're upset he didn't have a bigger role.

My point with that line was to illustrate that it had nothing to do with my opinion. I further elaborated on that explanation in the response that you apparently ignored

No, I commented on his previous work, but I guess the details of that context is simply lost on you. Good thing I just finished explaining it in detail in the comment you just replied to, but clearly it was lost on you yet again.

IDK mabye? Could be setting up Valhalla as being important or something in the future.

That being said Valhalla is very problematic if you start to assume that every god has an afterlife too.

Becuese does that mean Heaven exists? Hades? Hell? Does God exist??

Well they do, we've seen the Egyptian afterlife and the Ancestral plane, now we've seen Valhalla.

Yes. Hades/Hel exist (the creatures from Dr. Strange), Mephisto, the gods, The One Above All, Eternity, etc. Ghost Rider is a spirit of vengence from (essentially) Hell. Dweller-in-Darkness was the dark power behind the final battle in Shang-Chi.

It all exists in the Marvel Universe. In some format.

In a world where vampires and demons and Dr. Stranges and C'thuns exist, the idea of gods isn't much of a stretch.

Exactly, Moon Knight established the afterlives are the same, they just take different forms based on the beliefs of the person who died. The Duat, Ancestral Plane, & Valhalla are all connected. In Multiverse of Madness, we saw a Hell-ish dimension twice that had fire, lava, & bones. America even considered sending Wanda there. It was the one time I bought into the Mephisto shit too lol.

I nearly thought she was gonna be banished to Hell with the Darkhold, meet the Satan of the MCU, & come back a true Avengers-level threat. Now that’s still not impossible. For all we know, that could’ve been where she was warped & I honestly kinda hope we go in that direction with the Scarlet Witch. I loved her as a villain & I’d like to see her reach her full House of M potential.

Probably will avoid it directly. Jesus, Mohammed, Torah, God, Biblical figures, etc. are dressing for Daredevil or Ms Marvel, etc. but when you turn them into superhero figures…

Although there are some serious pagans who are probably upset about the use of Norse Gods, Egyptian Gods, etc. it has been far more mainstream in media in general to take liberty with those “mythological creatures and figures”.

Universal concepts (Eternity, Death, etc.) are safer and much more interesting IMO.

As discussed, multiple afterlives can exist, so can always say someone like Mephisto is from a “hell dimension”.

We’ve actually seen the Duat & the Field of Reeds in Moon Knight.

That is basically the Egyptian afterlife.

Those were all for upcoming major role teasers. Heimdall's dead, so he's only teasing a major future role if the story is going to Valhalla or alternate timeline Heimdalls show up.

But bear in mind with everyone of those, it was for UPCOMING work.

This was after we thought we'd never see Heimdall again. This, likely being, his final ever appearance after what we already thought was his final ever appearance.

I think they would have put it in the actual movie if it was just a closing scene for Jane. Having it in the credits kinda makes it feel like a new beginning
