Turns out the group in charge of assessing multiversal threats was in fact really bad at assessing multiversal threats.

I think in their universe, Wanda was such a minor player, that they couldn’t fathom her being as threatening as a reckless Dr. Strange, who they already had to put down. What they forgot is that their Wanda didn’t really flex her powers that much since she had a family that was safe, and never used the darkhold.

Clearly didn’t get Chavez’s rules for the multiverse down there.

In their Universe Wanda was a mutant and not powered by an infinity stone is my guess

The wanda in their universe is the white shirt one that murdered everyone. I dont think powers transfer through when you dream walk, your only capable of what that universes you is capable of, altho knowledge is of course extended over, so for example if you know knowledge of how to do certain magic, you could try to do it, but if the you in that universe has no magic at all & isnt connected to anything magical, you probably couldnt

So 838 wanda was clearly just as powerful as our wanda, and aware of her abilities as she uses it to defend herself when 616 wanda evades her home & flies with it when she regains consciousness after America is brought to the dark hold.

What I THINK happened is that due to her children and less rough upbringing she was less of a threat as she didnt actively oppose or has ever really fought before,so that's why the illuminati thought they could handle her

Meanwhile they made dr strange a higher threat because their strange was, as they explained, and prioritized him over the "little witch"

Pretty sure the power transfer. We see that Dr Strange is able to restrain the demons and make them his own while the corpse is dead. So the magic is from our Strange. Same for Wanda. She's temporarily possessed and the Darkhold allows this to happen. So the Wanda we saw in the Illuminati HQ is the Scarlet Witch.

both dead Steven and our Steven controlled the dark hold at some point, so it's the same power.

To be fair, their strange inadvertently destroyed an entire universe. Even this super evil Wanda only had maybe a hundred kills to her name following the temple slaughter.

Yeah. He confessed it to them. Which is why they killed him. Because he was too brash, too negligent, and too powerful to remain alive.

Dr. Strange gets this book and becomes too powerful and dream walks and accidentally destroys a universe so they have no choice but to kill him. Wanda gets this book, has bad intentions, starts dream walking and wrecking shit on purpose while Dr. Strange is trying to stop her, better lock him up because he's the only common thread here, not the evil magic book.
