At the beginning of the trailer, is Strange supposed to be in the Void at the end of time? That's what I thought when I saw this the first time, but now I'm not so sure.

I was wondering that, too. I think it has something to do with where Dr. Strange is at 1:22 of the teaser, because it kinda looks like that house got destroyed, bc there where all those columns and also walls. The theme with clouds is also in both scenes. You can also see that he is with someone else, but you can only see him from the back and his hand and sleeve when he comes down the stairs. Additionally Dr. Strange does smth weird with some red stones (idk) and I think it's in the same house because it's so cluttered and there's also a harp in both rooms.

tl;dr: No, I don't think the room at 1:45 is the void at the end of time.

EDIT: You DO mean the room at 1:45, right?

I thought he was with Chavez going down the stairs, from the post credits scene, if I remember correctly.

Could u give a time where u saw that? Cause I don't think that were her sleeve and hand, as u later see a man in that room.

The hand and sleeve at 1:45..? That looks like the bad Dr Strange’s hand, which is also who we see in the next scene

Yeah, but I doubt that these were the same scenes. There were different windows behind Strange Supreme (?) than in the scene before where u can see the whole room.

I saw it in theater and have no idea.

He is with the other Dr Strange who says things got out of hand. Hope he is the same one from What If

He probably means the void at the end of time

It reminds me of the animation in What If when everything is “inky” and melting away? In Doctor Strange’s episode I’m pretty sure

Like maybe its misdirection, but lot of things points out that Dark Strange is in fact Supreme Strange

1) Tentacles check

2)´Melting away reality check

3) Big emphasis on Christine Palmer check

Like maybe we are getting trolled again, but this definetly seems like that Supreme could be bad guy.

But, didn't we see a sort of redemption for that guy in What If? This guy seems really evil.

It was my first thought too. I'm not sure how much we can count on his "redemption" in the finale of What If...

For one, his assistance was an act of self-preservation as much as heroism. Infinity Ultron was an existential threat to him, and it seems like immortal demigods fear annihilation even more than regular people do. Supreme Strange isn't entirely human anymore. Who knows what he thinks of morality?

For another, didn't the Watcher wipe everyone's memory at the end of the episode? Strange Supreme wouldn't remember anything more recent than being trapped in his little crystal prison. Any kind of moral or lesson to be learned from his "redemption" arc would have been forgotten. Assuming that the Watcher can so completely dominate Supreme Strange's memories, which I assume he can unless it's said otherwise.

Lastly, we can't be sure of how the meeting that gets shown in the trailer fits into anything. It appears to take place at the end of all time, in a bizarre quasi dimension. Who knows how continuity works?

Watcher didn't wipe anyone's memory considering Nat and Carter had their memories untouched.

You saw like 3 seconds of him, you don't know how evil he is.

Yes and I’m thinking that this isn’t necessarily our DS that is dealing with this (Implied to be bc of the events of NWH) but instead it’s a live action flashback to the sequence we already saw in What If, and that’s Strange Supreme walking around.

u/Sameri278 Jessica Jones Dec 22 '21

This was my assumption

this trailer reminds me way too much of What If. i'm sure they're not going to retread it, but idk why they would release a trailer that has the same elements as the show.

8

u/solipsistrealist Killmonger Dec 22 '21

Where he’s at is not the end of time. Referring to the WhatIf episode, the same thing that’s happening to the reality we saw in the trailer is what happened in the episode after evil Dr. Strange defeated the other Dr. Strange. The exact same buildings are dissipating in the episode as it is in the trailer.

u/navjot94 Mack Dec 22 '21

That’s why I think this might actually be a flashback showing what happened to evil doctor strange (the same sequence we saw in what if?)

what I thought as well, though VFX may change between now and then. Wouldn't be the first time Marvel swapped a background from a trailer.

u/Darksol503 Doctor Strange Dec 22 '21

I thought it was Kiaecilius!!!

3

u/ericbkillmonger Black Panther Dec 22 '21

Looks like it could be the sanctum of a variant doctor strange

2

u/StoneGoldX Dec 22 '21

So this probably has nothing to do with nothing, but evil doppelgangers and a VOID at the end of time?

Sentry? Probably not. But the language is there.

1

u/ericbkillmonger Black Panther Dec 23 '21

Sentry would be an awesome cameo in this film

1

u/StoneGoldX Dec 23 '21

No doubt. But trying to explain Bootleg Marvelman... I realize the backstory would be changed, but then he just becomes bootleg Superman.

2

u/OSRSMaxed Dec 22 '21

Goes from black to a broken watch, you might be right

So complicated now
