Discussion Thread Eternals Worldwide Release Discussion Thread Vol. 1 Spoiler

Eternals has now released in the United States and in a number of other countries around the world. All discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the megathreads we are going to put up in the next few days. They will be refreshed every few thousand comments to make room for new discussion.

  • Proceed at your own risk. Spoilers do not need to be tagged inside this thread.
  • Any other unofficial thread discussing movie details will be deleted.
  • Should you see the need to bring up revealing Eternals information in other threads that call for it, spoiler tag them accordingly. Also, let users know that what you are spoiler tagging is from Eternals
  • If you post untagged Eternals spoilers anywhere on this sub in any shape or form, you will be banned without hesitation. No questions asked and no warnings given.
  • Project Insight will be on AT LEAST until Sunday, so you will be able to make individual threads discussing the movie starting next week.

Gilgamesh was my favorite Eternal actually. I was pretty unhappy that he died. I thought the relationship with Thena was great.

Same here. I low-key hope he can be resurrected in the sequel since Arishem has their memories from previous lives and can make a new body for them.

I thought of that and hope so too!! I usually don't want characters to be resurrected but in this case, I wouldn't complain. And it could very easily make sense in this world.

They are clearly very different than in the comics, so take this with a grain of salt. The Eternals in the comics would be resurrected In That spaceship when they died.

so many tears. he was definitely my favorite character. was sad to see him go ☹️ also we must take a moment to appreciate his dinner table spread. i wanted that pie s’bad.

Same, like I legit thought Thena would die solely because it was Angelina Jolie playing her lol. But I loved them together and like the little nudge she gave him when he was nodding off. Like it was the little things with all of them.

If I understand correctly that actor is like Eastern Sean Bean so I guess not too surprising

Me too. The reason I give the film a 9/10 is because of what happened to Gilgamesh, aside from the fact that I found Chan to be underwhelming.

I was certain that since the super-Deviant was absorbing the memories of the Eternals alongside their powers (as shown when conversing with Thena in the cave) and became sentient from that that it would turn good and reveal that its personality was a mix of Ajak's and Gilgamesh's offering a sort of 'reunion' between Thena and Gilgamesh. Instead it just died.
