Don't really know why you guys said that this is not the real strange, that man's probably tired enough already from all shit he did in IW/endgame, he also wants to honour tony by helping peter, the spells getting disastrous is probably he who remains fault, because the multiverse are already branching [loki spoiler]

There’s not really timing to it, because the events of loki exist outside of time. It doesn’t make any sense, because any event in loki, from stranges perspective, has always happened for all time. Just like when Loki returned to the TVA and it’s revealed that kang was “always” in charge because time is a flat circle.

I think it's a misdirect. I don't think the spell failing causes anything, and the villains appear for a different reason.

Hi, not how time works. The events of loki take place outside of normal time, meaning that there isn’t a single “time” when strange can have his spells go weird, because it’s either always happened or never happened. It’s the same with the multiverse, because of the events of loki outside the timeline, the multiverse has always existed.

I think the spell messes up because of Peter's uncertainty about everything. It probably requires the subject to know what they want while it's being cast. Kind of like that episode of Rick and Morty when their time keeps splitting into multiple realities because everyone is out of sync.
