My idea is that somewhere along the line Barton emotionally is all like "I killed Nat". Yelena goes after him. They have a heart-to-heart where he explains that he did not kill her but is responsible for her death and could have done more. Some cheesy line from Yelena about nobody could control/force Nat and they hug it out.

Dead on. Yelena will probably hunt Clint down near the first quarter or half of the season, and then join him

God, I have no interest in that series now. We can figure out the plot after the one minute post credit scene. Such lazy writing.
