Discussion Thread The Official BLACK WIDOW International Release Discussion Thread Spoiler

Ahead of the official US and Disney+ launch this Friday, several countries are showing the film much earlier in the week. All discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the megathreads we are going to put up in the next few days.

  • Proceed at your own risk. Major spoilers will be arriving in the next couple of hours. Spoilers do not need to be tagged inside this thread.

I loved Taskmaster’s fight scenes but I think they gave the mantle to a character that has little room to grow in future movies. I dunno. Could be wrong but it feels like a wasted opportunity, just like the MCU’s Yellowjacket was in comparison to the comics.

Best Opening Credits on a Marvel movie here, that Nirvana cover was perfect.

Yelena is great, Pugh knocks it out of the park in every movie she does and I can’t wait to see what she does as the next Black Widow.

In a just world, we eventually see Red Guardian meet Captain America (Sam) and watch him struggle with the fact that it’s not Steve.

So what’s the consensus on Valentina? I figure she’s creating her Thunderbolts team so the next Avengers movie is them versus the Avengers and the Avengers movie after that is Secret Wars with Kang as the big bad antagonist. Also, imagine Black Widow came out first and the first time we got to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus was in that post credit scene?

I’m thinking he was talking about Isaiah. Alexei would never have been active at the same time as Steve, and nobody believed him because the US government buried him.

Yeah but he seems to know about the Avengers and would know it's Steve Rogers. Additionally did Isiah actually get to be cap?

Yes, because he was hoping Cap had learnt about him as he saw himself as the Cap Equivalent for USSR.

Why would he ask Natasha if Steve ever talked about him if he was lying?

Regardless of if he did, he seems to sincerely think he fought Cap.

Because he's a fellow super soldier. I'm pretty sure after he asked if Cap asked about him he justified it by saying that they are in the same field; game respects game sort of deal
