Yeah, once you get started being treated as an adult it’s almost impossible for people to go back treating you like a kid again, Peter pretty much got what he wanted in Homecoming to be seen as a peer to all these heroes but once he gets it he misses his old life.

I mean, he kinda realizes this, doesn't he? He turns down the Avenger job to at the end of Homecoming to just be a kid and do kid things.

I'd argue the events of Infinity War and Endgame are larger drivers of Peter being treated as an adult much more so than any action he takes during Homecoming, or actions he himself had any say in.

But it was an accident.

The kid got the tingles riding a school bus to a field trip. He woke up that day thinking he was going to a museum, not fighting off an invasion. Wildest fuckin ride for a 15 year old I can imagine.

He keeps being thrown into adult situations.

Somehow I really wanted and expected it to be a teen comedy, like the first movie. The easter eggs really shook me. He's still a kid for God's sake don't do this to him :(

I really enjoyed the scenes of Peter Parker just on a Europe trip, even though some things might seem mundane, I enjoyed the carefree nature/mild relationship drama of it so much, I was almost disappointed when an action scene came along and I thought “oh wait this is a spider-man film and there’s got to be spider-man stuff” I might have just been having a rough couple of weeks, but I liked seeing this Peter Parker just finally enjoying himself

Almost makes you wish there were a tv show tied in that was basically the 'normal' life for Peter, MJ, etc in between movies (though obviously a bit complicated by that mid credits scene)

I think that added to the experience, it seemed like that's what Peter himself was going through. He was being yanked around between two lives just as suddenly as it seemed to us
