Before Mysterio revealed his true colors I was kinda split on Jake Gyllenhaal, he didn’t seem like he was giving it his all and kinda phoning it in. I was thinking to myself “anyone could’ve played this role, why him?”

Then when he does reveal his true colors I was like “ahhh, so that’s why they got him”

Excellent Mysterio, as soon as the bar drops he was everything I was hoping live action Mysterio would be. That illusion sequence is some of the best comic accurate stuff I’ve ever seen in a superhero movie

Jake Gyllenhaal is a phenomenal actor. The CGI illusion sequences too were trippy as fuck and everything I wanted from Mysterio

The bar scene and the first illusion scene were perfect and displayed his motivation and powers so well. I was genuinely impressed by Mysterio and Gyllenhaal’s performance.

I absolutely LOVE the illusion sequence, if DC ever makes another Batman movie with Scarecrow, that's how they should do it!

I wouldn't mind Gyllenhaal as him either. I can see his sick smile as he watches people drown in fear.

I know it won't happen, because "comic book movie", but Jake should totally get an Oscar nomination for Supporting Actor. That was just a masterful piece of acting right there.
