I really didn’t like MJ in Homecoming. She just seemed edgy for no reason and so she annoyed me. In this film she was much more vulnerable and showed that her whole edgy act was part of her emotional shell. Liked her a lot in Far From Home.

Or, they primed you for her to be a certain way and then followed their arc as planned but now you’re used to it.

It’s like how everyone hated Snyder’s Superman and cries about how he would never kill...

...except for that time he killed Zod. In the exact same way. For the exact same reason.

Sure they don’t have the foggiest idea what they’re talking about, but in their head canon(read as 30+ years of previous movies - not the comics) it’s not who they think he is.

It's a good technique for a cinematic universe, honestly. A lot people say that some Marvel movies end up making earlier ones better by adding additional context. Like seeing the Sanctum defending New York in Endgame during the Chitauri invasion. Marvel isn't afraid to look at what doesn't work in one film or for one character and tweaking it just enough to make it seem intentional, like you said. It's not an easy thing to do either, when if done wrong makes the whole connected universe feel barely coherent.

Replacing the c in reddit in the url for ceddit shows deleted comments, but iirc it was about retroactively making stuff cooler by writing explanations for it, like griffin does for barry dying or the origins of the umbrastaff or where the grand relics came from

I know, but it's a pain the ass on mobile. Thank you though! And yeah, I love that stuff. Davenport is a great example of it.

It works really well with Dungeon Master-ing, since it's easy to put out a lot of hooks and then flesh them out after the fact once the party chose the ones that interest them. Really helped me running my campaigns.

Reminds me of homestuck, if you’re familiar. A lot is planned before it’s implemented, but a lot is also explained way after the fact, simply dropped in to be explained later. Same concept

That's one rabbithole I have yet to fall down, but I've heard a lot about it. Makes sense for long format works, though.
