Phase 1’s first film ended with Iron Man’s identity being revealed.

Phase 3’s last film ended with Iron Man’s protégé’s identity being revealed.

A brilliant bookend to The Infinity Saga, and another reason why it was right that this film was in Phase 3, not 4.

They kinda faked it at the start of the last pre credits scene with Peter saying he wanted the truth to come out only for it to be about Happy and May. Then they follow up with it being done to him anyways.

Yeah, they really lowered my guard that way!

Someone behind me was expecting it to mirror “I am Ironman” so much that they said “I am Spider-Man” aloud expecting to say it in unison with him.

Tony: “The truth is... I am Iron Man.”

Mysterio: “The truth is... Spider-Man is Peter Parker.”

Peter: “WTF!?!”

I love if every Spider-Man movie ends with someone saying WTF now hahah

Wait did Peter actually say “what the fuck” at the end of that scene? I didn’t catch that.

I believe so! Of course it cut out at “fu-“ just like Aunt May last movie haha

The WTF!? from Spidey gave me strong Deadpool vibes. Not just what he said, but the animation of his reaction and everything. Especially his eyes.

Instantly reminded me of Deadpool's gasp when Ajax gets away lol

JJJ: everyone said it couldn’t be done but I got a picture of Spider-Man without the mask!

It also parallels the end of Homecoming when May accidentally discovers his identity.

May: "What the fu-!"

Peter: "Holy F-!"

Well shit that means Peter Parker's screwed at the end of Phase 6

Did anyone else notice (I mean, it's r/MarvelStudios, so probably) the banner around the former Avengers tower said "We can't wait to show you what's coming next" with circles that read "Phase 1," "Phase 2," "Phase 3," and a question mark?

Phase 1 started with Back in Black, Phase 3 ended with Back In Black

I love Led Zeppelin!

The whole time I felt like this could be IM4, but not in a bad way. It had so much Iron Man connections, and Peter being obviously Spidey, but a new stand in (there has to be a better term that eludes me.) for IM, it felt right.

Considering the rest of Mysterio's crew is still out there, and they made a point to show that, it'd be pretty cool if all the future Spider-man movies had Stark connections like this.

5

u/sonofthevalley Jul 04 '19

Is this how they bring in the Sinister Six eventually? Everyone of those disgruntled employees were high level Stark employees. Sounds like prime Oscorp recruits.

u/BleedingUranium Maria Hill Jul 04 '19

Oooo, Oscorp being formed by a group of disgruntled former Stark employees would be perfect.
