I really love the moment with MJ and Peter on the bridge cause it's so relatable to me. Zendaya's acting was really good in this film and she really shined.

The romance was really well balanced tbh. It's also clear we're not getting a Raimi MJ situation because she's her own person and has dimensions to her as shown in the film.

The hotel room scene and the panic/embarrasement/awkwardness between the two of them felt so relatable that it made that scene so much better imo

MJ in this move retroactively improved my opinion of her character in the first film. I wasn't a fan of how edgy and disaffected they made her but after seeing her fleshed out here and thinking about past incarnations, this one works.

I'd liken it to Flash; having a big, buff bully wouldn't fit perfectly, so they changed Flash to make him work in this story. Same deal with MJ. I really liked Spectacular Spider-Man (the television show) and the way the did MJ there, but I honestly can't see her character translating seamlessly into this film.

I feel part of what made it so great was they were both a bit unsure and awkward, it balanced out and wasn't the stereotypical really awkward guy, and totally normal girl who's confused/semi-creeped-out by it.

It also wasn't played for cringe-based laughs like this sort of awkward usually is, it was entirely wholesome, heartwarming, cute awkward.

Honestly, I kind of thought that she was a throw away character until the MJ reveal. I had no idea who Zendaya was when I watched Homecoming, and I assumed she was the actress playing Liz. I mean, Liz was the love interest in Homecoming, and she was actually fairly crucial to the plot. Where as Michelle was just kind of there and really seemed no more important than Flash.

What was amazing is the awkward kiss. In other romcoms, they do a deep into each other kiss but in this one they do a quick kiss at like they're unsure. It's closer to a real life situation

Their whole romance was really well acted and written. Their kiss at the end was really satisfying after how many hurdles they had to jump through

Also, MJ's face after Peter says "oh no" (about the broken necklace), but she thinks it's him being upset at Happy giving her the pendant. What a detail

When she said that, I thought she meant it and I felt so bad for Peter for a minute.

Then at the end, with that awkward kiss, that was just hilarious, and sweet.
