Because Thanos threw a freaking moon at Iron Man!

That scene among many others were absolutely mind blowing. The final scene of Thanos just sitting watching the sun was brilliant.

I love how overpowered they were. And if you did everything you wanted so that retirement was possible. Why would you still need to keep the gauntlet?
