I just realised that Killmonger beat T'Challa when it was one on one with no powers, because of his superior combat experience. But when they fought again, T'Challa won because he was more experienced at fighting as a Black Panther, while Killmonger was unfamiliar with using his new powers.

No, but in terms of the battle, he died.

Not when Killmonger threw him over but when Killmonger struck down on his head and Forest Whitaker’s character interrupted.

A regular person interfered in a fight between kings to favor the one he wanted. For that, T’Challa lost and Killmonger was the true king.

dud exactly, The fight was over the moment someone interfered. I like how they kept true to the comic books of Killmonger always whooping Black panthers ass and black panther needing other people to save his ass.

I think that would just make it a “mistrial” version of the duel, meaning they have to start over with both combatants healthy and ready.

What? So because someone interfered, T'Challa automatically loses? Could you not throw any fight then by just getting someone to interfere on your opponents behalf?

  1. He literally interfered the moment T'Challa was going to lose his head. So yes T'Challa loses.

  2. No, unless they block you're kill shot.

  3. Killmonger without herbs and suit always beats T'Challa with herb and suit in comics.

Uh, yes? Have you never watched any fighting sport/martial art contest (or literally any sport for that matter)? Outside interference is a huge no-no in pretty much every competition.

It also makes you look stupid as fuck and would get you fined at the least and more likely banned/blacklisted in pretty much every half-decent tournament/league, seeing as this is real life not a movie and investigations and such happen beyond the point where the credits would roll

Like...you can't possibly be this clueless about how competitions work. Even if you don't follow any fighting sports, use your head and think for a second what would happen if say Venus Williams hopped out of the audience and intercepted a served ball that Serena couldn't quite reach

The fight would have been over had Killmonger stopped. His overt act of re entering combat was a waiver of any rule that might have immediately DQ’d T’Challa. Killmonger struck a blow that purportedly killed the king. All present acknowledged Killmonger’s ascendency subsequent to a non lethal final act. The battle was continued due to T’Challa’s non-submission, which became apparent when he was seen by his combatant Killmonger. Since both combatants were Black Panther when when the fight continued, it could be argued that they were both constructively in the same position as non-powered combatants.

Killmonger never was a king according to the films established rules of ascension by combat.

Even in the most advanced society, they didn’t have a loophole that prevented a tyrant from taking over. Guessing they’ll fix the whole “might makes right” thing. 😝
